25-year-old rising star puts Mercedes Mone on notice

The AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone got called out by a 25-year-old star. The CEO has a little history with the star from earlier this year as well.The 25-year-old rising star, Momo Watanabe has her sights set on Mercedes Mone. Watanabe is a popular name on the Japanese wrestling scene, and she is currently signed with STARDOM. She also challenged Mercedes for the TBS Championship at Revolution 2025 earlier this year but failed to capture the title.Meanwhile, Momo Watanabe is slated to challenge Saya Kamitani for both the NJPW Strong Women's and World of STARDOM Championship on November 3. Ahead of the double title match, Watanabe vowed to capture both titles and put Mercedes on notice.Speaking on Tokyo Sports, Momo Watanabe said she wants to beat Mercedes with the NJPW Strong Women's title on the line, as the belt is "strongly associated" with Mone:"Kamitani says STRONG is just for show, but that purple belt is cute. I will defend both belts all over the world. Also, that belt is strongly associated with Mercedes Mone, so I want to beat that belt collector for the belt. She currently holds a total of 12 title belts from all around the world.Mercedes Mone is set to challenge for the AEW Women's World ChampionshipWhile Mercedes Mone already holds a total of 12 title belts, including the TBS Championship, she is set to go for the big one. The CEO will challenge Kris Statlander for the AEW Women's World Championship at the Full Gear 2025 pay-per-view on November 22.Mone and Kris Statander wrestled each other in two great singles matches last year, and this will be their third encounter. Mercedes is also set to defend her CMLL Women's Championship against Olympia this Saturday on Collision.
