Beautification works on fast-track mode, says GVMC Commissioner

Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) Commissioner Ketan Garg on Saturday (October 25, 2025) said that the beautification works in view of the CII Partnership Summit-2025 are put on fast-track mode, as very little time is left. Mr. Garg inspected the ongoing development and beautification works in Zones 3, 4, 5, and 8, including Telugu Thalli Flyover, Thatichetlapalem, Urvashi Junction, NAD Flyover up to the Airport, along with the main venue area at Andhra University Grounds. He was accompanied by Additional Commissioner S.S. Varma, GVMC engineering officials, and representatives of the Andhra Pradesh Green Urban Corporation. The Commissioner instructed the officials to ensure the quality and timely completion of works such as road dividers, central medians, islands, footpaths, road repairs, lighting, plantation and painting being undertaken from RTC Complex to the Telugu Thalli Flyover, Railway New Colony Road, Thatichetlapalem, Urvashi Junction, NAD Flyover, and Airport Highway. He further directed that plants in the central medians should be uniformly and attractively trimmed, overgrown tree branches should be cut, and replace withered plants with new ones. Later, the Commissioner inspected the helipad area at the Andhra University Grounds and also reviewed the ongoing painting and beautification works.
