Bombshell records that damn Letitia James and show Trump was RIGHT... and the staggering sum she was swindling

The paper trail at the heart of federal fraud charges against New York Attorney General Letitia James over a home she bought can be revealed for the first time. The Daily Mail has obtained the bombshell documents that show James herself described the Virginia house as an investment property in the financial disclosure in her ethics filing – and later claimed it as a second home in her mortgage application. The difference is important, federal prosecutors say, because it allowed James, 66, to get a lower mortgage rate by claiming the home in Norfolk, Virginia, was for her use. James, a longtime political enemy of Trump who previously led charges against him and his real estate organization, is alleged to have misrepresented the house as a 'second home' in loan papers to secure a cheaper interest rate. The alleged discrepancy was laid bare in a financial disclosure form that James, filed that same year, which listed the same property as an 'investment' – a detail now central to the charges that could potentially land her behind bars for 30 years. The instructions on the disclosure form explicitly state: 'Do NOT list any real property which is the primary or secondary personal residence of the reporting individual.' The indictment, filed in the Eastern District of Virginia on Thursday, charges James with bank fraud and making false statements to a financial institution in connection with the $109,000 property purchase. The three-bed, one-bath, home was 'not occupied by James as a secondary residence and was instead used as a rental investment property, renting the property to a family of [three]', the indictment states. By misrepresenting the property, prosecutors allege, James was able to avoid a 0.815 percent higher loan rate, allowing her to save $17,837 and pocket $3,288 in seller credits. The mortgage loan's 'second home rider' document signed by James, and obtained by Daily Mail, also clearly states that she should occupy and use the property as a second home'. 'Borrower will maintain exclusive control over the occupancy of the property, including short term rentals, and will not subject the property to timesharing or other shared ownership arrangements,' the papers state. It goes on: 'Borrower will keep the property available primarily as a residence for borrower's personal use and enjoyment for at least a year after the date of this second home rider.' However, there is no indication that James has ever used the property as a second home. The indictment against James has been slammed by Democrats who say it is a misuse of the justice system as Trump specifically told Attorney General Pam Bondi to go after James, former FBI director James Comey and Senator Adam Schiff. MSNBC's Jen Psaki also claimed that four Trump cabinet members – Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, Labor Secretary Lori Chavez DeRemer and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy all did the same thing as James on mortgage applications yet have faced no charges. James, who was elected AG in New York in 2018, also owns a five-unit brownstone in Brooklyn, New York, worth approximately $2million that is her main home. As an elected official, James is required to file ethics and financial forms every year with the New York state Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government. On her 2020 ethics form, James did not say that the Norfolk property was a second home: instead she called it an 'investment' property which brought her an income of between $1,000 and $5,000 a month. James listed the property as an investment in her 2021 ethics form as well. The instructions for the property section of the 2021 form also explicitly states not to list any real property that serves as the filer's primary or secondary personal residence. The home was listed as an investment in 2022, 2023 ethics forms and finally in 2024 James called it 'real property'. In another twist that can be revealed by the Daily Mail, James bought a second property in 2023 and claimed that was her 'second home' as well. When she bought the house for $219,000 in August that year, she filled out another 'Second Home Rider' with identical language to the first. So her property portfolio had grown to at least three homes, two of which she was claiming were her 'second home'. President Trump has long sought revenge on James after she brought multiple fraud cases against him and his real estate business which resulted in a $500million penalty against him. While the judgment was thrown out by an appeal court, Trump has sought retribution and this week it arrived in the form of the indictment filed in the Eastern District of Virginia by US Attorney Lindsey Halligan. Halligan is a Trump loyalist who was parachuted in after her predecessor refused to pursue legal action against the president's adversaries, including Comey. James faces 30 years in jail for bank fraud and making a false statement to a financial institution, as well as fines up to $1million. In a statement accompanying the indictment, Halligan said: 'No one is above the law. The charges as alleged in this case represent intentional, criminal acts and tremendous breaches of the public's trust. 'The facts and the law in this case are clear, and we will continue following them to ensure that justice is served.' In a defiant message posted on X, James rejected the allegations against her. 'This is nothing more than a continuation of the president's desperate weaponization of our justice system,' she wrote. 'I am not fearful – I am fearless,' she declared, vowing: 'We will fight these baseless charges aggressively and my office will continue to fiercely protect New Yorkers and their rights.' In a video message James –m who will be up for re-election in November 2026 – also accused the president of 'forcing federal law enforcement agencies to do his bidding, all because I did my job as the New York State Attorney General'. 'These charges are baseless and the president's own public statements make clear that his only goal is political retribution at any cost,' she continued. James has already gained the support of New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, who wrote that: 'New Yorkers know @NewYorkStateAG James for her integrity, her independence and her relentless fight for justice.' 'What we're seeing today is nothing less than the weaponization of the Justice Department to punish those who hold the powerful accountable.' The Daily Mail has contacted James's office for comment.
