Chilliwack-Hope MP encourages applications for 2026 Canada Summer job funding

Chilliwack-Hope MP Mark Strahl is encouraging employers to apply for funding to hire young Canadians over the upcoming summer. Applications for the 2026 Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program are now open and available until Dec. 11, 2025. Through this program, employers will be able to receive wage subsidies and give Canadians, between the ages of 15 to 30, the “skills and experience they need to successfully join the workforce.” “Both local employers and local students have benefited from this program in the past,” Strahl said via a press release. The MP is asking all employers in the Chilliwack-Hope area — which includes not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers, and private-sector employers with 50 or fewer full-time employees — to apply. Since 2017, the CSJ program has been creating summer job opportunities that provide valuable work experience for Canadian youth.
