Crash closes Erskine Bridge southbound as police race to scene

The Erskine Bridge is closed southbound this morning after a collision. Traffic Scotland said the carriageway was closed due to a one-vehicle collision on the A898 bridge, which links the A82 Great Western Road to the M8. They added that police are en-route. Traffic is being held southbound. A spokesperson for Traffic Scotland said: “The A898 is currently CLOSED Southbound due to a one vehicle collision. “Traffic is currently being held Southbound and Police are en-route.” Elsewhere this morning, commuters are facing disruption on the rail network after a van struck a bridge in Dalmarnock. The crash caused a "large amount" of debris to fall onto the Glasgow Central low-level line (Argyle Line), causing all trains to be suspended.
