Denise Richards Cries Over Aaron Phypers in Bombshell Video, Says Charlie Sheen 'Never Hit Below the Belt' Like Him

New evidence shared in Denise Richards' ongoing court battle with Aaron Phypers makes reference to one of the star's previous high-profile marriages. Richards, 54, and Phypers, 53, appeared in court in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Oct. 7, for a hearing regarding a temporary restraining order the actress was granted against her ex in July and is now seeking to make permanent. During the hearing, a video that Richards said she'd recorded at the beginning of August was shown. The actress said she sent the video to Phypers on Aug. 21, just weeks after he filed for divorce, when she was "was moving all of our things out of the studio townhouse." In the video, which was shown in its entirety by Phypers' attorneys in court, Richards drew a direct comparison between her six-year marriage to Phypers and Charlie Sheen, who she was married to from 2002 to 2005 and shares daughters Sami, 21, and Lola, 20, with. "Things were bad with Charlie and I, but he never hit below the belt," she said. Richards made another comparison to Sheen, 60, as she said of Phypers, "I don't know you. Charlie, I knew. Every other ex, I knew. You, I don't know. That's why this has been really f------- hard." "I don't even know who the f--- you are," she continued of Phypers, who has repeatedly denied all accusations of abuse against Richards. "And I gave you everything." In the video, Richards also alleged that she found evidence of Phypers cheating — "I saw the d--- pics you took," she claimed at one point — and denied that she had cheated. Richards said that it was "such a shock" when Phypers filed for divorce. "I really thought you were my soulmate," she said. In the video, Richards also said she "tried my hardest" with Phypers, calling him "the one person I always thought I could trust and that would protect me," but who ended up being the "opposite" of that. "You've hit me too many f----- times and each time it's getting worse and worse," she alleged. As the video played in the courtroom, Richards was visibly emotional and wiping away tears as she watched it back. The references to Richards' ex-husband came after Phypers' attorney filed a witness list that named Sheen as someone he may call on in a future hearing, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE. Brandi Glanville was also included in that list. The testimonies from Sheen and Glanville would be related to "Denise's history of not being truthful and of drug and alcohol abuse," per the filing. Amidst their ongoing divorce, Richards was granted a temporary restraining order against Phypers and accused him of domestic violence. In the July 17 filing, she claimed he repeatedly abused her, would "frequently violently choke me," and "violently slap me in my face and head, aggressively slam my head into the bathroom towel rack, threaten to kill me, hold me down with his knee on my back to the point where I would have to plead with him to get off me so that he would not kill me." Phypers denied the claims, calling them "completely false and deeply hurtful" in a statement to PEOPLE, and then he accused Richards of cheating on him and being physically abusive. "Denise and I, like many couples, have faced our share of challenges, but any suggestion of abuse is categorically untrue," he added in his statement to PEOPLE. "I have always tried to approach our marriage with love, patience, and respect." In court on Oct. 6, Phypers' alleged abuse was discussed as Richards testified that her ex "almost killed me so many damn times" and "would often threaten to throw me through the windows and off balconies."
