Dingle v St Finbarr's LIVE updates from Munster club football final as Cork and Kerry champions face off

The AIB Munster Club Senior Football Championship final takes centre stage today as the only senior club championship game on in the country. It's always worth watching when the best of Cork and Kerry collide and this clash features some of the finest footballing - and hurling - talent in the game.

Dingle of Kerry are spearheaded by the likes of Paul Geaney and his family members while Aussie Rules star Mark O'Connor is home to land a famous title with the blessing of his AFL club Geelong.

Perhaps the headline act in St Finbarr's success this year has been Cork hurling star Brian Hayes. The hurler of the year nominee is one of the finest dual players in the country and he hit a hat-trick of goals in the Munster semi-final. That demolition of Éire Óg Ennis – a 3-20 to 0-14 rout – was ruthless. Hayes has been impressive, while Steven Sherlock is also a serious scoring threat.

A tougher test came in their nail-biting county final against Nemo Rangers, a game that swung like a pendulum before Cillian Myers Murray’s late point secured the Andy Scannell Cup. The Barrs have shown they can win ugly, win stylish, and win under pressure – all qualities you need in a provincial decider.

West Kerry side Dingle are riding high after ending a 77-year wait for a Kerry SFC title, overcoming Austin Stacks in dramatic fashion thanks to two late, unstoppable goals from Paul Geaney.

Geaney is their best known star but this was a team effort: Tom O’Sullivan’s long balls, the steady contributions of Dylan, Conor, and Niall Geaney, and the resilience to claw back from a long period in arrears have defined a team that is quietly ruthless when it matters most. Their Munster semi-final win over first-time Limerick champions Mungret St Pauls was a hammering – 2-15 to 0-02.

An extremely damp FBD Semple Stadium hosts the game, with throw-in set for 1.30pm.
