Divorced NBA coach Will Hardy thrust into spotlight after Kristin Cavallari date reveal

Utah Jazz head coach Will Hardy went to Nashville for a dinner date with Kristin Cavallari earlier this year, according to Us Weekly. “It was one date and that was it,” a source told the outlet. “She never saw him again.” Hardy and his ex-wife Spencer Ladd Hardy have been “divorced for over a year,” he told Page Six. The coach had no comment on the date with Cavallari. It comes after Cavallari — who was married to former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler from 2013-22 —shared last month that she went on a date with a “big deal coach” after their agents at CAA helped set it up. “I literally said to the universe, ‘I’m ready to go on a date,’” Cavallari said during an October episode of her “Let’s Be Honest” podcast. “The next day, I got a phone call from my agent who set me up with a coach, which is also funny because [matchmaker] Patti Stanger came on my podcast and said, ‘You should go out with coaches.’” Cavallari, who did not share her date’s name, admitted she didn’t know who he was at first. “He is represented by CAA. So am I. Our two agents made it happen,” she said. “He flew to Nashville, took me to dinner, such a great guy.” Hardy, who was previously an assistant with the Spurs and Celtics, is in his fourth season coaching the Jazz. The 37-year-old is 90-169 so far as a head for the rebuilding Utah squad. Although the “Hills” alum enjoyed the date, she explained that “it just wasn’t right” between the two and added that while she had a nice time, she knew that her and they weren’t a perfect match. “I know after the first date if I’m going to like someone or not,” Cavallari said. “I was trying to make it work, and I kept talking to him, and I was going to see him again and everything in me was telling me not to. When I’m out of alignment for what is meant for me, everything in my body screams at me. He is such a good guy. I enjoyed talking to him. … It just wasn’t right.”’ During an April episode of her podcast, Cavallari said she was single after briefly dating former NHL forward Nate Thompson, whom she had a “deep” connection with. Cavallari said that she took a break from dating over “because I didn’t want any distractions before my tour.” Her “Headline Tour” for her “Let’s Be Honest” podcast spanned four cities from June until August. Cavallari also said at the time that she reactivated Raya, a private, membership-based dating app, and that she won’t settle “for anything less than exactly what I want.” Cavallari and Cutler share sons Camden, 13, and Jaxon, 11, and daughter Saylor, 9.
