Dodgers Predicted To Add $427M Superstar On League-Altering 10-Year Deal

The Chicago Cubs took a huge risk by trading for Kyle Tucker last offseason. Now they’re facing the consequences as Tucker heads to free agency. Tucker’s free agency sweepstakes are expected to dominate the offseason. There’s bound to be a handful of teams vying for his services as he looks to land a massive contract. Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley recently predicted the Los Angeles Dodgers would be the ones to land Tucker on a 10-year contract this offseason. That’s similar to the 10-year, $427 million deal that Jim Bowden of The Athletic projected earlier this week. And they can’t afford to just ignore that fact,” Buckley wrote. “They’re not. Their front office is already prepping for the offseason ahead, and it apparently could feature the biggest splash available. “They’re ready to spend, in other words, but so should be any team eyeing Tucker, who has a non-zero chance of fetching $400 million-plus on the open market. Expect all the typical big-spenders to get involved here.” The Dodgers are bound to be one of the top suitors in the Tucker sweepstakes. They need to add an outfielder to the roster, and there’s no better option than Tucker. Finding the money might seem like an issue on the surface, but the Dodgers aren’t the kind of team that struggles with the payroll. This idea makes as much sense as any.
