Former AEW champion officially confirms she's returning "soon"

A top AEW star confirmed her status in the Jacksonville-based promotion. Former AEW Women's World Champion Thunder Rosa has sustained and recovered from various injuries over the past few years. In 2022, she was sidelined due to back injuries, and once again in 2024 because of a concussion.Fans were happy to see La Mera Mera in action for most of 2024 and early 2025. Unfortunately, she couldn't enjoy her in-ring return for long. At All In: Texas, she was part of the inaugural Women's Casino Gauntlet match. She injured herself during the contest.In an interview with Midnight Movie Trash, Thunder Rosa discussed the projects she has been part of lately. The 39-year-old star also said she is still rehabbing and will be back in the ring "soon."“I’m actually going to be part of the mega procession of Catrinas, which is in Mexico City in Reforma (...) I’m also doing a lot of work with the NFL and the Texans that’s been a lot of fun and right now I’m just focusing on continuing my rehab for the injuries that I just had a couple months ago and I have really good news. Everything’s going really well so I’m expecting to return to the ring fairly soon," she said.
