Haynes and Ramdhani retain senior Badminton National titles The 2025 Guyana Badminton Association (GBA) National Senior and Junior Championships concluded in fine style on Sunday evening at the National Gymnasium after four days of intense competition featuring 80 participants, 222 entries, 22 events, and 188 matches. In the Senior Division, defending champions Akili Haynes and Priyanna Ramdhani reaffirmed their dominance, successfully retaining their Men’s and Women’s Singles titles respectively. Haynes produced a composed performance to overcome Tyrese Jeffrey 21-17, 21-14 in the men’s final, while Ramdhani proved too strong for Mishka Beharry, winning 21-15, 21-9 in the women’s final. The Junior Division saw a showcase of outstanding talent, led by Anjaynesa Godette and Mishka Beharry, both of whom ended the championships as triple title holders. Godette captured the Girls’ Singles titles in both the Under-13 and Under-15 categories and also partnered with Joel Rambiriche to win the Under-15 Mixed Doubles crown. Beharry, meanwhile, swept through the Under-19 category, securing the Girls’ Singles, Girls’ Doubles (with Leshaunte Berkley), and Mixed Doubles (with Ruel Rambiriche) titles.
