Haas Factory Team ‘disappointed’ by NASCAR’s ruling against Sam Mayer, discloses stance on appeal

Sam Mayer was suspended by NASCAR on Tuesday, thanks to his antics on the cool-down lap of last Saturday’s Xfinity Series race at Martinsville Speedway. Therefore, Mayer, who is said to have violated sections 4.4.B of the NASCAR Member Code of Conduct, will be replaced by Ryan Sieg, driver of the No. 39 RSS Racing Ford, this coming weekend at Phoenix.Haas Factory Racing has confirmed that it will not appeal the penalty issued to Sam Mayer by NASCAR. For the No. 41 team, the primary focus will be on giving Seig the best possible car to compete for the win. For Seig, it is going to be his 400th career start.Haas Factory Racing released its official statement on the matter through a post on X. It read,“Although we are disappointed with the results, Haas Factory Team will not appeal the penalty NASCAR issued to Sam Mayer and the No. 41 team following last weekend's race at Martinsville Speedway.”“We remain focused on finishing the season out strong at Phoenix Raceway and look forward to contending for a race win with Ryan Sieg at the wheel.”Sam Mayer ended up ramming Jeb Burton, who then spun out and hit the outside wall. Mayer also slammed the outside wall, thus ending his 2025 championship bid.32 races into the season, the Franklin, Wisconsin native has amassed a win, 13 top fives, and 18 top-10s.
