I'm A Celebrity's Aitch hits out at 'sad' Down Syndrome abortion laws

I'm A Celebrity star Aitch has criticised the current Down Syndrome abortion laws before heading into the jungle. The rapper has said one of the reasons he is going on the iconic show is to raise awareness of the condition. The star has spoken about his younger sister Gracie having Down Syndrome over the last few years. Aitch - whose real name is Harrison James Strong - said that his 13-year-old sister doesn't yet know that he is going on the programme and it likely she will just find out when she sees him on screen. Aitch said: "I've just learned certain things over the years that make me a bit sad. In terms of you can be a day before giving birth, and if you find out your child's got Down Syndrome, you can still have the option to terminate it. "Whereas in another situation, if your kid doesn't have that, you've only got a certain amount of time before you can abort." Down syndrome is a condition in which a person has an extra chromosome. The musician often talks about his close bond with sister Gracie. He wrote his song My G about her and all the funds generated from the track are donated to the Down's Syndrome Association. At the beginning of My G's music video, Aitch includes a touching tribute that says: "This song is dedicated to Gracie Armstrong. You have the biggest heart in the world ! Don’t change for no one. Love you kid x." This week Aitch shared a message for his fans and his mum before heading into the jungle. Taking to his Instagram and wearing his jungle attire, he wrote: "I’ve made songs with most people I grew up listening to, now I’m going on the show I grew up watching. "Mam this one’s for you. Bout to go f**k up the jungle the Manchester way. Cinnabit" Some of the celebrities have already been seen taking on one of the iconic show challenges. Kelly Brook , Shona McGarty, Eddie Kadi , Martin Kemp and Aitch were all seen after skydiving. They were seen laughing and joking as Ant and Dec looked on atop what appeared to be a castle. A source said: "They all seemed to be getting on really well with each other despite presumably having only just met. They are clearly all bonding all very quickly this year." The stars only arrived in Australia in the last few days but there was no sign of the remaining other stars: Alex Scott, Lisa Riley, Ginge, Jack Osbourne and Ruby Wax. I'm A Celeb airs this Sunday on ITV1 and ITVX at 9pm Like this story?
