Jasmine Paolini Reveals One Key Advice Jannik Sinner Gave her that Improved her Game

Jasmine Paolini has opened up about the advice that Jannik Sinner gave to her, which has improved her game on the court. However, the World No.8 refused to reveal in specific details what Sinner actually advised her on, as she believes that her opponents will use it against her on the court in the future. Paolini and Sinner are the leading stars of Italian women’s and men’s tennis. The former is currently World No.8, while the latter is World No.2 having recently dropped to the position after failing to defend the US Open title in September. Both players have also led Italy to the two biggest competitions in tennis. Paolini propelled Italy to defend their Billie Jean King Cup in Shenzen, China, while Sinner helped fire Italy to win their second Davis Cup title in Malaga, Spain. He will look to help the Italian team claim their third successive title in Bologna next month. Sinner won two Grand Slams this season – the Australian Open and Wimbledon Championships. The 24-year-old has dominated the men’s circuit alongside his arch-rival Carlos Alcaraz. He claimed his third title of the season at the China Open in Beijing after beating Learner Tien in straight sets. Meanwhile, Paolini’s biggest trophy has come from the WTA 1000 tournament, despite reaching two Grand Slam finals. On tour, women’s players rarely get an opportunity to discuss with their female counterparts. Despite that, Sinner and Paolini have maintained a good relationship. During an interview with Tennis365, Paolini revealed that during the 2024 Davis Cup Finals, Sinner shared advice to her ex-coach Renzo Furlan about her game: At the Davis Cup finals last year, my ex-coach Renzo (Furlan) was speaking with Jannik and I was surprised because he said I wasn’t doing something on the court. I can’t say what it is because my opponents will know then! My coach came to me and said: ‘Jannik has said you need to do this’. I mean, when Jannik tells you to do something, you just have to do it. How can you say no to Jannik’s advice? Nonetheless, Sinner was forced to retire from his third-round match at the Shanghai Masters after struggling with cramps during his intense battle against Dutch star Tallon Griekspoor. His retirement means he will not be able to defend the Shanghai title and his 1000 points, leaving his rival Alcaraz to cement his place as World No.1.
