JUST IN: Tinubu forwards names of service chiefs to Senate for confirmation

President Bola Tinubu has just forwarded the names of the newly-appointed service chiefs to the Senate for confirmation. He conveyed his request in a letter he sent to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and read to lawmakers on the floor in Abuja. The letter was referred to the Committee of the Whole for commencement of screening next week. The names Tinubu forwarded were: Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede; Chief of Army Staff, Major-General Waheedi Shaibu; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas; Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Kennedy Aneke; and Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major-General Emmanuel Undiendeye.
