Kiké Hernández Represents Puerto Rico in World Series Win

For the second year in a row, Enrique “Kiké” Hernández proudly displayed the Puerto Rican flag at the trophy ceremony as the Los Angeles Dodgers were crowned World Series champions. The Dodgers clinched the 2025 pennant last night in Toronto with a 5-4 win over the Blue Jays in eleven innings. Hernández, who grew up in Toa Baja, is an outfielder for the Dodgers. Last year, when the Dodgers clinched the pennant, he received widespread attention for both his athleticism and draping the Puerto Rican flag on his shoulders during the trophy ceremony. Last night was no different. Hernandez, who earlier in the week had saved Game 6 for the Dodgers by turning a skilled catch into an impressive double play in the bottom of the ninth inning, again sported the Puerto Rico flag at the trophy presentation to the Dodgers. “Puerto Rican culture has shaped me in a big way, especially on the field,” explained Hernández in an earlier interview. “Every time I step out there, I’m fully aware that I’m representing the Island — and I take that responsibility to heart. I wear Puerto Rico on my sleeve with pride.” In the offseason, Kiké enjoys relaxing with his wife, Mariana, and their daughter, Penelope at their home in Phoenix, Arizona. They also have two dogs, Bruce Wayne and Arizona.
