Linnsie Clark on track to be re-elected as Medicine Hat's mayor despite controversial first term

In other elections across southern Alberta, in Lethbridge the incumbent mayor, Blaine Hyggen, has a lead of 483 votes over Ryan Mennie, a former two-term city councillor, as of 10:10 a.m. Tuesday. With 13 out of 20 polls reporting, Hyggen has 5,040 votes to Mennie’s 4,557. Four candidates in all are running for mayor, with Quentin Carlson third with 1,218 votes and Michael Petrakis fourth with 490 votes. Counting will continue throughout the day in Lethbridge, where 17,102 people cast a ballot, a 19.3 per cent turnout.
