Man charged with 25 offences over alleged shooting spree in Sydney’s inner west

A man has been charged following an alleged shooting incident in Sydney’s inner west on Sunday.

Police were called to Georges River Road in Croydon Park on Sunday evening after reports of a shooting.

Dozens of shots were allegedly fired from a first-storey apartment, hitting cars and buildings and injuring several people.

After the area was locked down by police, officers entered the unit and arrested a 60-year-old man. A rifle and ammunition were allegedly located and seized.

The 60-year-old man was taken to hospital under police guard for injuries sustained during the arrest.

The man was taken to Burwood police station where he was charged with 25 offences including 18 counts of shooting with intent to murder and various firearms offences.

The man has been refused bail to appear at Burwood local court on Tuesday.
