KUCHING, Nov 29: Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg shared a personal reflection today as he congratulated Minister of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah and her husband Datuk Dr Adi Badiozaman Tuah on their 50th wedding anniversary.

The remark came during the launch of the Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS) Dalat Campus, broadcast live by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) on YouTube.

Abang Johari lightened the moment by teasing that Fatimah and Adi “still look young” despite reaching the golden milestone.

He then shifted to a personal aside about his own marriage to the late Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang.

“My journey with late Juma’ani only lasted 48 years because she passed away just before our 48th anniversary.

“So we were short by two years—we didn’t reach 50. But 48 years is still a long journey for both of us,” he said.

Juma’ani passed away on June 23, 2025, at the age of 76 at Normah Medical Specialist Centre in Kuching.

The couple had been married since February 26, 1977, sharing nearly five decades together.
