‘She turns into snake, chases me’: Man’s wild claim stuns Sitapur authorities

Sitapur: A bizarre complaint in Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur district has left officials surprised after a man alleged that his wife “turns into a snake at night” and tries to bite him. The incident came to light during Samadhan Diwas (Public Grievance Day) in the Mahmoodabad area, when residents usually raise issues related to civic amenities. Meraj, a resident of Lodhsa village, appeared before the District Magistrate claiming that his wife, Naseemun, transforms into a serpent at night and attempts to attack him. Police said an inquiry has been initiated, treating it as a potential case of mental harassment. Meraj has also submitted a written application detailing his allegations to the District Magistrate.
