Chase RCMP responded to a potentially explosive situation at a residence after a man threatened to “blow the house up.” At approximately 5 p.m. on Sept. 26, officers responded to reports of a disturbance at the residence on First Avenue, with the caller claiming that a male was outside and threatening to burn the house down. “Upon police arrival, the suspect was still at the scene and was heard yelling that he was going to ‘blow the house up’,” Const. Sarah Van Wilgenburg said in a media release. “A 54-year old male from Chase was arrested at the scene.” Multiple charges have been recommended.
