In those games, Butler averaged 20.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game. The Warriors walked away with a 1-2 record in those matchups. Additionally, Curry was injured during Game 1 of the second round against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the playoffs. The Warriors crumbled under pressure as they lost four straight games in Curry’s absence. In fact, Butler has a terrible record without Curry by his side. On the contrary, the Warriors still managed to reach a 6-3 record in the pre-Butler era during the 2024-25 season. In conclusion, Kerr’s statement could be true when both stars are healthy and Curry is on the bench for a breather. But even Butler has failed to win games for the Dubs without the 4x NBA champion.
