Strictly Come Dancing star had 'tears in eyes' as Vicky Pattison gets same comment

A Strictly Come Dancing star has said they had 'tears in their eyes' as Vicky Pattison completed her latest routine as fans rushed to share the same response. The former Geordie Shore star was back in the ballroom on Saturday night (November 1) after making it through to week six of the competition alongside professional partner Kai Widdrington. The pair were among the 10 couples taking part in the BBC One dance show's Halloween special, as they celebrated slightly later than the annual festivities on Friday (October 31). The show opened with a skit featuring presenters Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly running away from the celebrity dancers, who had turned into zombies. Meanwhile, former Strictly stars Ruth Langsford, Layton Williams and Krishnan Guru-Murthy were among those in the audience during the Halloween-themed show. First out on the night was Vicky, as she and Kai got the Halloween special started with an American smooth to Total Eclipse Of The Heart by Bonnie Tyler. They even received a rare standing ovation before securing a high score of 31 out of a possible 40 from the judges. In response to the performance, Motsi Mabuse said: "A few weeks ago, I couldn't believe that you'd open our show. I loved the character play in the beginning, you did it so, so well. "So for me, you are a contender for the final. Honestly. And I just want you to finish everything, make everything nice and clean.' Vicky was left moved by the comment, which almost reduced her to tears. Speaking to host Claudia Winkleman afterwards, the shaking star admitted: "I hated going first!" But she went on: "Honestly, I loved this dance this week because for once I had a foundation to build on. I wasn't just starting from scratch and feeling so inadequate. I was just desperate to prove that I have improved." As a clip from the performance was shared on Strictly's social media channels, pro dancer and Vicky's pal Jowita Przystal was quick to admit she was left emotional, as she commented: "Had tears in my eyes in the end [face holding back tears and heart emojis]. I’m so proud of you @vickypattison!!!" Meanwhile, Strictly fans were quick to make the same observation about Vicky. @diane.hollingsworth.737 said: "Brilliant dance getting better each week." @lilyscarlettbeck commented: "Well done Vicky, such an improvement from your last ballroom." @feefills wrote: "Brilliant dance. Such an improvement." @jessiehxsking posted: "It’s a joy to see how much Vicky Pattison has improved since week one, she has turned into a beautiful dancer #Strictly." @michellesdowden typed: "Vicky has blossomed so much during the competition and it’s so beautiful to see #strictly." @ClausSlaggy shared: "I love Vicky, my favourite part of the show is rooting for someone who isn't the clear front runner that is the best at dancing but someone who is working hard and improving every week having started with 0 experience, would love to see her in the final #strictly." @TVMusings22 added: "Just catching up on #Strictly you can really see the improvements in Vicky."
