Teenager and man charged after allegedly spraying Bossley Park home with bullets in filmed drive-by shooting

A teenage boy and a young man have been charged after allegedly recording themselves spraying an innocent couple’s home with more than 20 bullets in a drive-by attack. The 22-year-old gunman and his 16-year-old getaway driver allegedly targeted a home on Aberdeen St in Bossley Park, Western Sydney, from a white Audi sedan, about 6.30am on Friday. They allegedly fled the scene before crashing the Audi at the intersection of Mimosa and Prairie Vale roads, where it was abandoned. An automatic firearm was found inside the car and a crime scene was established at both the car and the home. The 22-year-old man was arrested at a Woodville Rd address in Fairfield West about 1.30pm on Friday. Police seized a shortened calibre rifle, ammunition and several mobile phones from the property. He has been charged with firing a firearm at a dwelling during organised criminal activity, and participating in a criminal group. He was refused bail and is due to appear in the Local Bail Court on Saturday. The 16-year-old was arrested about 6.15pm the same day after police stopped a vehicle on Camden Valley Way, Leppington. He has been charged with firing a firearm at a dwelling during organised criminal activity, participating in a criminal group, and being carried in a conveyance taken without the owner’s consent. He was refused bail to appear before a children’s court on Saturday. More ammunition and clothing were allegedly located and seized during a search warrant at a River Mint Ave home in Leppington on Saturday. Maria Uzabeaga, who was asleep inside the targeted home, narrowly avoided injury. Her husband Patricio said they have no idea why they were attacked. The couple’s home had also been shot at the day before. Police are investigating whether the incidents were a case of mistaken identity.
