Tony Khan officially confirms AEW star will be replaced due to a serious reason

A popular AEW star suffered a major setback recently on television. Tony Khan followed up on the situation and revealed they would be replaced in a major upcoming showdown in the Jacksonville-based promotion.The aforementioned star in question is Penelope Ford. On an episode of Dynamite two weeks ago, Ford teamed up with Megan Bayne to battle Tay Melo and Anna Jay in the opening round of the AEW Women's World Tag Team title tournament. Although they won the match, Ford sustained an injury while doing a moonsault on the outside of the ring. Bryan Danielson first made the announcement during the live broadcast of this week's AEW Dynamite. Following that, Penelope Ford confirmed that she tore her UCL and will be out of action indefinitely. At the same time, it was announced before that the first-ever Blood and Guts match will take place for the women on November 12 in Greensboro, North Carolina, with Ford initially scheduled to partner with the Triangle of Madness against Queen Aminata, Jamie Hayter, and other unnamed participants for the historic bout.However, in a recent live session on X, Tony Khan announced that Penelope Ford will be replaced in the match due to her injury. He added that many wrestlers are lined up to take that spot in the Blood and Guts match while also teasing more announcements regarding the hellicious in-ring bout.
