We Should Do Everything Possible to Revive Dying Print Media- Otumfuo

The Occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has called for an urgent national meeting to devise an effective and efficient plan to revive the mainstream media, particularly the print media. From the observation of the King, the mainstream media is struggling for survival and cocooned in intensive care, fighting for its last breath. Speaking at a dinner organised as part of the 29th GJA Media Awards on November 9, 2025, Otumfuo intimated that the “worrying” situation is not replicated in advanced countries. His Majesty, on that note, stated that everything possible must be done to save the platform which has graciously served as the bulwark of cultural history over the years. “I believe tonight, we need to raise a national court to save the mainstream print media. These papers are now part of our cultural heritage, and we should do everything possible to save them from extinction.” Present at the event held at the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Jubilee Hall at the Manhyia Palace were Nananom, President of the GJA, Albert Dwumfour, the awardees and others.
