Sicko poses as plumber to rape disabled woman before forcing her to cash machine

A convicted sex offender masqueraded as a plumber before launching an attack on a disabled woman . Kevin Wyatt, 41, was sentenced to a decade behind bars in 2010 after he raped a woman, having gagged her with a sock and covered her head with a pillow. He was released midway through his sentence before he absconded from his 'approved premises' in 2021. In June last year, Wyatt feigned being a plumber and paid a visit to a woman's home in east Manchester. Manchester Crown Court heard the woman was vulnerable, suffered from multiple health conditions and relied on a wheelchair. After pretending to carry out work, Wyatt returned. He requested to be allowed back inside to gather more information. Wyatt forced the woman out of her wheelchair before raping her. He remained at the property, preventing his victim from escaping, before raping her again, reports the Manchester Evening News . Wyatt subsequently forced her to accompany him to a cash machine at knifepoint and demanded she withdraw £120. Sentencing him, judge Alan Conrad KC said: "She is often tearful. You caused injury to her limbs and body when you manhandled her. "She faces surgery. She has been severely psychologically affected and fears staying at home and going out." Wyatt has prior convictions for robbery, attempted robbery, and rape. Sentencing him as a dangerous offender, the judge handed down a life sentence with a minimum term of 12-and-a-half years. Wyatt must complete his entire sentence before appearing before a Parole Board. The judge said: "The facts of this case are dreadful." Wyatt, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to two offences of rape, robbery, false imprisonment, and threatening a person with a knife. He was ordered to register on the Sex Offender Register for life. Detective Constable Lucy Holland, from City of Manchester CID, said: "This was an horrific crime where Wyatt has abused the trust of a vulnerable woman who invited him into her home. Wyatt is a dangerous man who is rightly now serving a long prison sentence. "I want to take this opportunity to praise the victim - her bravery in reporting the incident and providing information to officers showed true courage. She has been supported by our officers throughout the case and will continue to be following his sentence. "We know how difficult speaking out about sexual abuse can be however our officers will support you, investigate, and act robustly against perpetrators. We will take your allegations seriously and treat you with dignity and respect."
