Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez choose wedding venue

Former Manchester United attacker Cristiano Ronaldo announced his engagement to Georgina Rodriguez earlier this year. The news was announced on the social media page of Rodriguez, who said “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives” on her Instagram post. Together for nine years, the pair are said to have met each other at the Gucci shop that she worked at whilst Ronaldo was playing for Real Madrid. The Daily Mail have reported that Ronaldo and Rodriguez will tie the knot in Madeira next summer. Expected to be one of the showbiz events of the show, it will be a Christian ceremony in Ronaldo’s home town and also 1.5 miles from the hospital he was born in. The wedding will take place following the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where Ronaldo will hope he will get married as a world champion. Since proposing, Ronaldo has spoken on how he proposed to Rodriguez during his recent interview with Piers Morgan. ”It was like 1am. My daughters were in bed sleeping. “One of my friends gave me the ring to offer Gio and as I was giving her the ring, my two kids come in and say Daddy, you’re going to give the ring to mum and you’re going to ask her to get married. “I said, “Wow, this is the right moment to say yes.” It was the time. I knew that I was going to do it one day but I hadn’t planned to do it then. “Because my daughters said that and my friends were filming, it was what I wanted and I offered (the ring). I didn’t (get on one knee) because I wasn’t prepared but it was a beautiful moment. I made a speech. “It was simple, I’m not a very romantic guy. Well, I am, but I’m not very romantic, not the kind of guy who brings flowers every week to the home. But I’m romantic in my way. It was beautiful and I knew that it’s the woman of my life so I did that and I hope that I did it well.”

Matheus Cunha injury details revealed

Matheus Cunha has been a hit at Manchester United since arriving from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer. Cunha, 26, joined United for a fee of £62.5 million after an impressive 2024/25 campaign which saw him record 17 goals and six assists in all competitions for the Midlands side. Since joining United, Cunha has impressed in the red shirt despite just one goal and zero assists in 11 Premier League appearances. His sole goal came in an impressive 4-2 home win against Brighton and Hove Albion. Cunha recently received a recent injury setback, suffering a head injury in training on Saturday. This has put a halt to his steady progress at the club . It has now been revealed the extent of how Cunha tried to make it back onto the pitch for the Red Devils. According to reports from SullyTalkz, we understand that the Brazilian international showed up hours early to their Carrington training ground to receive treatment in attempts to improve his recovery. However, he did not recover well enough to make tonight’s squad to face Everton in the Premier League. On a positive note for United fans, the injury is seen as a minor one for Cunha. He will be expected to return for at least one of their next two games either away to Crystal Palace or at home to West Ham United as they aim to continue their fine run of form. Their last defeat came against Brentford and they have since earned an away win at Liverpool and a last gasp draw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in an impressive run of games for Ruben Amorim’s side. Cunha will be a welcomed return when he does make it back onto the pitch for United.

Belgium honour former Manchester United star before seven goal rout

The Belgium national team secured their place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico in style. They secured qualification after a 7-0 win at home to Liechtenstein. Goals from Hans Vanaken, Brandon Mechele and Alexis Saelemaekers, as well as braces from Jeremy Doku and Charles De Ketelaere, ensured the side automatic qualification at the top of the group. This was also a game that saw Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens make his debut for the national team. Earning the opportunity thanks to an injury to Thibaut Courtois, Lammens made the most of his opportunity and impressed on his debut. This was a special occasion for 23-year-old, in what has been a fantastic period for him after making the move to Old Trafford this summer. However, before the game RTBF Actus have reported that former United midfielder Marouane Fellaini was honoured by the Belgium Football Union. Fellaini made 87 appearances for Belgium during his career, one that officially ended in 2023, four years after his international retirement. As such, the former midfielder was presented with a Belgium shirt printed with the number 87 on the back. Arguably, his best moment for Belgium came in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. During a Round of 16 clash with Japan, Belgium found themselves 2-0 down after a goal from Takashi Inui in the 52nd minute. After Jan Vertonghen’s 69th minute goal to halve the deficit, Fellaini came up with the equaliser five minutes later as they went on to complete the comeback through a Nacer Chadli winner in the 95th minute. During his career, the former Standard Liege, Everton and Shandong Taishan man spent five and a half years with Manchester United, helping to secure a host of titles. This included trophy success, winning an FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Europa League and FA Community Shield during his time at Old Trafford. Fellaini had his critics at United, but his importance to Belgium was never ignored, recieving the perfect reminder of that this week.
