Travis Kelce Reveals Chiefs' Key to Success Against Rival Bills

The Kansas City Chiefs have a major challenge coming up in the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, and the game feels like a must-win for both teams. The Chiefs are 5-3 after a slow start to the season, and even though they’re blossoming now, taking another loss at this point in the season would deflate the momentum they’ve worked to build. Meanwhile, the Bills lost two consecutive games before their bye week, and though they’re coming off a win over the Panthers last week, those two losses are still fresh in their minds. Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce opened up about the upcoming game on the most-recent episode of his “New Heights” podcast, giving s little insight into what he believes the Chiefs need to do to win. “Getting [Bills running back James Cook] the ball is a pretty good strategy,” Travis Kelce said, half-joking. “Yeah, so hopefully we can slow that down and keep putting up points like we’ve been putting up over the past couple of weeks.” Cook notched 216 rushing yards against the Carolina Panthers and two touchdowns last weekend, and he’s quickly established himself as one of the top RBs int he NFL. Kelce also addressed the short week for the Chiefs, since they played on “Monday Night Football.” “We got a big one this week against Buffalo on a short week, man,” he said. “And the Bills got rolling again this past week. They were part of some of those blowout games that we saw on Sunday.” Read more: Patrick Mahomes Had Classy Gesture for Travis Kelce After Historic TD Kelce went on to talk about the success that the Chiefs have been experiencing on the field lately. “We’re scoring touchdowns and that’s where it really gets fun. When you’re putting up seven points every time you touch the ball, it’s a fun, fun time,” he said. “Defense is playing great, special teams is playing great, and offense, it just feels like we’re dialing the right things up, and we’re rolling as an offense. It’s fun when everybody’s getting a piece of the pie.” Monday’s game was a huge one for Kelce. He earned his 80th career regular-season touchdown pass and become just the fifth TE in NFL history to do so, according to NFL research. According to ESPN, Kelce also scored his 100th touchdown, including the postseason, so it was a happy night for him. NFL Makes Jordan Love Announcement Before Packers-Panthers

The Green Bay Packers edged out a 35-25 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers during a high-profile Week 8 “Sunday Night Football” matchup over the weekend, showing that Green Bay has an MVP-level quarterback in Jordan Love, who out-dueled former Packers legend Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers. Now, Love is getting some recognition for his massive game against the Steelers. Love was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his showing during Sunday’s win. This marks the third time Love has earned the award. Previously, he received the honor during Weeks 17 and 18 of the 2023 season. During the Packers’ riveting comeback win over Pittsburgh, Love completed 29 of 37 passes for 360 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions to earn a career-high passer rating of 134.2. He also tied Brett Favre’s 18-year-old franchise record, notching 20 straight completions from the second quarter to the fourth quarter. Before the showdown, Love’s career best was 11 straight completions, according to NFL research. We didn’t connect on a couple of those, but I thought all in all, he did a great job. “He was in complete command of the game, made a couple of off-schedules. He played really, really well.” The milestones don’t end there. According to the Packers, Love is the first quarterback in franchise history to reach a bevy of marks in one game: 350-plus passing yards, three-plus passing TDs, zero interceptions, zero sacks, 75-plus completion percentage and 9.5-plus yards per attempt. Love also joined Rodgers and Favre (twice) as the sole Green Bay quarterbacks with 350-plus passing yards, no interceptions and no sacks in a single game. A lot of it is just saying good luck throughout the season. A-Rod texted me and was talking about some of the plays we’d run and some of my footwork, things like that, complimenting me, so obviously it’s great to be able to hear from him.” The Packers’ next game is Sunday, Nov. 2 against the Carolina Panthers.
