Jaipur Tragedy: Class 6 Girl Dies After Fall From School Building, Probe Team Denied Entry

A Class 6 student died on Saturday after falling from the fourth floor of a private school in Jaipur, prompting an investigation into the incident and allegations that the school management refused to cooperate with officials, reports PTI. The girl, identified as Amaira, was a student at Neerja Modi School and the only child of her parents. According to police, she was rushed to a nearby hospital after the fall, where doctors declared her dead. Mansarovar Station House Officer (SHO) Lakhan Khatana said police are reviewing CCTV footage from the school to determine how the incident occurred. “Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide,” Khatana said. A spokesperson for the Joint Parents Association, Abhishek Jain, alleged that the girl took the extreme step after being scolded by a teacher. “We have spoken to many students. It has come to light that the girl jumped from the fourth floor after being scolded by a teacher. However, the school administration destroyed evidence by cleaning the spot,” Jain claimed. Following the incident, Rajasthan School Education Minister Madan Dilawar ordered an immediate inquiry. A six-member team from the education department was sent to the school but was allegedly denied entry by the staff. “Neither the principal nor any school representative met us. The main gate was locked from inside, and even the staff did not respond when we knocked repeatedly,” said District Education Officer (Elementary) Ram Niwas Sharma. According to Sharma, the team reached the school around 3 p.m. and waited for more than an hour and a half. “We kept waiting at the gate. We tried to inform the principal, but no one came forward. Such non-cooperation will invite strict action,” he said, adding that the department may consider revoking the school’s recognition. Police officers, including SHO Khatana, were at the site when the inquiry team arrived. Forensic experts also collected evidence from the spot, and the post-mortem was conducted at Jaipuria Hospital in the presence of the girl’s parents. Minister Dilawar expressed concern over the incident, saying, “It seems there were no adequate security arrangements at the school. I have asked the district education officer to submit a detailed report. Action will be taken if negligence is found.” As of Saturday evening, the school management had not issued any public statement about the incident. 'Bullet Hit by Mistake': Jharkhand Worker Caught in Saudi Crossfire Sends Heartbreaking Voice Note to Wife

A 27-year-old man from Jharkhand’s Giridih district was shot dead in Saudi Arabia earlier this month after being caught in a crossfire between police and local criminals involved in the illegal liquor trade, officials and family members said. According to a report by The Indian Express, the victim, Vijay Kumar Mahato, a resident of Dudhapania village in Dumri block, had been working with Hyundai Engineering and Construction Company for about a year. He was part of a transmission line project in the Jeddah region. Caught in Gunfire Near Worksite Mahato’s brother-in-law, Ram Prasad Mahato, told The Indian Express that the incident occurred on October 15 when Vijay was walking near his worksite and got caught in a gunfight between Saudi police and extortionists operating in the area. “Vijay was nearby when the firing began. The bullet hit him by mistake,” Ram Prasad said. Vijay was taken to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The family was informed of his death on October 24. Before dying, he reportedly sent a voice note in Kortha language to his wife, saying he had been hit by a bullet meant for someone else and was pleading for help. He is survived by his wife, two young sons aged five and three, and his parents. Investigation Underway, Body Yet to Be Released Officials said the Indian Embassy in Riyadh has confirmed that the incident took place in the Jeddah region, under the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of India (CGI), Jeddah. The CGI has informed that Mahato’s death is being treated as suspicious, and his body remains in the custody of the Public Prosecution Office in Jumum, Makkah, pending investigation and the issuance of a Police Clearance Certificate. Shikha Lakra, head of the State Migrant Control Cell under Jharkhand’s Labour Department, said the process to bring back the body has begun. “The department referred the matter to the Protector of Emigrants (Ranchi) and the Indian Embassy in Riyadh for an investigation and repatriation of the mortal remains,” she said. Family members have said they will not accept the body until the company gives a written assurance of compensation. 'We're Waiting for Your Wedding Order': Here's What Old Delhi's Iconic Sweet Shop Owner Told Rahul Gandhi - Watch

Congress leader and Lok Sabha Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi’s Diwali outing to Old Delhi's iconic Ghantewala sweet shop turned into a lighthearted moment when the shop owner jokingly reminded him that the nation is still waiting for his wedding. Gandhi put out a video of him trying his hand at making 'imarti' and 'besan laddoo' at the famous Old Delhi store. Sushant Jain, the owner of the centuries-old sweet shop, called Gandhi "India's most eligible bachelor" and said he told the Congress MP they were looking forward to his marriage — not just for the celebrations, but for the wedding sweet order. "All of India talks about him being the most eligible bachelor," Jain told ANI. "I said, 'Rahul ji, please get married soon — we’re waiting to get the order for your wedding sweets too.'" A Sweet Diwali Stop at a Historic Shop Gandhi visited the historic Ghantewala sweet shop on Diwali, where he tried his hand to make imarti and besan laddoo. Jain said Gandhi wanted to buy sweets for his friends and relatives and even insisted on preparing them himself. "He said this is his own shop," Jain recalled. "His father, the late Rajiv ji, loved imarti, so I told him to make that too. He also likes besan laddoos, so he made those as well," he added. In the video, the shop owner tells Gandhi they had served his grandmother, father and other members of the family and is now waiting to supply sweets for his marriage when it happens. Gandhi just smiles at the suggestion. Gandhi said that the sweets are made in a traditional manner and a lot of effort and talent goes into it. Gandhi’s Festive Message Sharing a video of his visit on X, Gandhi wrote that he tried making traditional sweets and praised the shop’s enduring legacy. “The sweetness of this centuries-old, iconic shop remains the same — pure, traditional, and heartwarming,” he said. He added that the true essence of Diwali lies in relationships and community spirit. “Tell us, how are you celebrating your Diwali and making it special?” he asked his followers.
