Rajasthan Govt Officer Fakes Wife's Job At 2 Firms, She Earns Rs 37 Lakh Without Working

In a bizarre case from Rajasthan, a woman has been found earning Rs 37.54 lakh in ‘salary’ from two companies for two years without working. The matter came to light when a petition was filed in the Rajasthan High Court. According to a report by NDTV, Pradyuman Dixit, a Joint Director in the IT Department at RajComp Info Services, allegedly received illegal payments through his wife, Poonam Dixit, who was falsely listed as an employee of two private firms — OrionPro Solutions and Treegen Software Limited — both of which were awarded government tenders. RajComp is a consulting organisation in the field of Information Technology and is fully owned by the Rajasthan government, which offers tenders for different firms. Pradyuman allegedly used his position to help OrionPro and other firms get government tenders. In return for passing the tenders, Pradyuman directed the two companies to employ his wife and provide a monthly salary. Based on the Rajasthan High Court’s order on September 6 last year, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) began a preliminary inquiry on July 3 this year. The investigation revealed that Poonam had received illegal payments of Rs 37,54,405 from OrionPro Solutions and Treegen Software Limited through five bank accounts between January 2019 and September 2020. The money was marked as ‘salary’, even though Poonam had never visited these offices during this period. Pradyuman allegedly arranged for about Rs 1.60 lakh per month to be deposited in his wife’s accounts as a kickback. It was also found that he personally approved his wife’s fake attendance reports to make the payments appear genuine. The probe also revealed that Poonam was receiving salaries from two companies simultaneously. She was receiving payments from Treegen under the guise of ‘freelancing’, while also being falsely employed at OrionPro. After reviewing company records and bank transactions, the ACB found enough evidence to register a formal case on October 17. Pradyuman, his wife, and other officials face charges under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, according to reports. DSP Neeraj Gurnani is currently leading the investigation into the case. Further investigation is underway and the accused are expected to be summoned in court to explain the misuse of public funds.

'Will Tear Waqf Law If Tejashwi Becomes CM': RJD Leader's Claim Draws BJP's Wrath

A fresh political controversy has erupted in Bihar with less than two weeks to go for the high-stakes Assembly elections in Bihar, as a leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) said Tejashwi Yadav will scrap the Waqf Amendment Act in the state after becoming the Chief Minister. A video went viral on social media, showing RJD leader Qari Sohaib addressing a campaign rally in Khagaria. “I appeal to all sections of the society, forget about everything, don’t come under anyone’s influence… people who passed the Waqf bill need to be treated,” he said. “To save Bihar and our country, defeat NDA, and vote for the Mahagathbandhan government. Once Tejashwi Yadav becomes the Chief Minister, all such bills will be torn and thrown away, be it the Waqf bill or any other bill,” he added. Vote for RJD and make Tejashwi bhai CM of Bihar. He will give proper treatment to all who are against us. People who brought bills like Waqf will be treated properly and these bills scraped. Their Intentions are clear!! pic.twitter.com/brUhVBvzgV — Megh Updates ?™ (@MeghUpdates) October 25, 2025 BJP’s ‘Jungle Raj’ Response The RJD leader’s comments drew a sharp response from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which accused the RJD of backing land mafias and seeking the return of Lalu Yadav’s ‘jungle raj’. “From the RJD platform, an announcement — if Tejashwi Yadav becomes the Chief Minister, they will end the Waqf law. The law will remain, but the intention to loot the lands is clear. This is exactly what RJD’s jungle raj is,” said BJP IT department in-charge Amit Malviya. pic.twitter.com/5SNWkAeru1 — Amit Malviya (@amitmalviya) October 25, 2025 “RJD leader using official RJD platform to threaten & tear apart laws made by Parliament & upheld by SC. This is what they want Jungle Raj + Shariah Raj not Kanoon Aur Sanvidhan ka Raj!” said BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla. Waqf Bill फाड़ देना है “Ilaaj” kar denge jo virodh karega RJD leader using official RJD platform to threaten & tear apart laws made by Parliament & upheld by SC This is what they want Jungle Raj + Shariah Raj not Kanoon Aur Sanvidhan ka Raj! Tearing a printout/ photocopy of the Act will make no difference, except expose their hooligan character. Waqf Amendment Act is irrevocable,” said another spokesperson, Tuhin Sinha. What Is The Waqf Law? The Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024, was passed in the Budget Session 2025 – from January 31 to April 4 – after a 12-hour debate in both Houses of the Parliament. The bill was cleared by the Lok Sabha with the support of 288 members, while 232 MPs were against it. The Rajya Sabha saw 128 members voting in its favour and 95 against it. The Act aims to modify the Waqf Act 1995 and to address the challenges in the regulation and oversight of waqf properties. Opposition alleged it was aimed at weakening Muslim institutions, while the government called it a transparency reform. Last month, the Supreme Court refused to stall the operation of the Waqf Amendment Act, 2025, in its entirety, noting that “presumption is always in favour of the constitutionality of the law, only in the rarest of rare cases are laws stayed”, but halted some provisions of the Act. Staying the requirement of a person to be a practising Muslim for five years, the court said it would be on hold till the government makes rules and comes up with a mechanism to avoid it becoming an arbitrary provision. The court also observed that permitting the Collector to determine rights of property was against the concept of separation of powers.

Govt Planning Reforms For Print, TV Media Amid Rapid Digitisation: Union Minister Vaishnaw

The government has planned a series of initiatives to protect the conventional media from the disruptions expected due to rapid digitisation, said Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday. Vaishnaw said the government plans to remove the regulatory overhang in the radio industry and Television Rating Point (TRP) reforms. “We are working on multiple levels. The transition from conventional to new forms of media has to be handled carefully,” he told reporters. “It affects people’s livelihoods and the incomes of traditional news houses, whether TV, radio, or print. For example, in the radio industry, there is a significant regulatory burden. Today, it has shrunk to almost a negligible level. The government is working to remove regulatory barriers wherever they exist,” Vaishnaw was quoted as saying by The New Indian Express. He further informed that the ministry is looking into ways to enhance the television rating system to ensure that TV channels receive fair revenue from government advertisements. “TRP guidelines are being formulated. The first round of consultation is complete, feedback has been received, and a second consultation paper will be published soon.” Additionally, the government is also considering an increase in the advertisement rates for print and television media, along with the integration of the Registrar of Newspapers for India (RNI), Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), and Press Information Bureau (PIB) to improve coordination across media outreach and regulatory functions, said Vaishnaw. The minister said the PIB has intensified its outreach efforts, issuing backgrounders and research-based documents on key topics regularly. A chatbot for fact-checking is being developed for verifying the authenticity of videos and online content. The minister said these initiatives are part of a broader strategy to help traditional media adapt to the rapidly changing information landscape, aiming to maintain a balance between innovation and sustainability across the country’s media sector. 'Terrorists Were Treated With Biryani': Amit Shah Attacks Congress-RJD Alliance At Bihar Rally

Union Home Minister Amit Shah delivered a scathing attack on the Congress-RJD alliance at a Bihar rally, saying Pakistani-backed terrorists were treated with biryani when they were in power, while the Modi government resolved to give a befitting response to such activities through Operation Sindoor. Addressing a political rally in Siwan, Shah said, “Brothers and sisters, just recently in Poonch, Pakistan-backed terrorists carried out an attack. When the Congress and Sonia-Lalu governments were in power, terrorists were being treated with biryani. But this time, under Modi’s government, we conducted surgical strikes, air strikes, and Operation Sindoor, entering Pakistan’s territory to eliminate terrorists.” The Home Minister claimed Bihar will celebrate ‘real Diwali’ on November 14, when the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government will come back to power, and said Tejashwi Yadav will face a humiliating defeat in the upcoming elections. जिस बिहार को राजद ने क्राइम का शेल्टर बनाया था, मोदी जी और नीतीश जी के नेतृत्व में NDA सरकार उसे डेवलपमेंट का हब बना रही है। सिवान जनसभा से लाइव…. https://t.co/OuKM9jhVkc — Amit Shah (@AmitShah) October 24, 2025 “For twenty long years, this land of Siwan endured the jungle raj of Lalu and Rabri. Siwan witnessed atrocities, oppression, and countless murders under that regime. Even though Lalu and Rabri rose to power, the people of Siwan never bowed down. It was Siwan that finally put an end to their jungle raj,” he said. Shah credited Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for ending Lalu Yadav’s jungle raj. He also mocked the Mahagathbandhan alliance, saying it was riddled with seat-sharing disputes and had failed to finalise the seats even after the deadline for filing nominations had passed. I promise you all that if you vote for NDA, we will remove each and every infiltrator from the country,” he further said, adding that the Election Commission has already taken stern action against infiltrators. He also criticised Lalu Yadav for giving a ticket to the son of gangster-turned-politician Mohammad Shahabuddin, saying Bihar had suffered a lot because of his dangerous ideology. “For 20 years, A-category history sheeter Shahabuddin had around 75 cases against him, including two jail terms, triple murders, and an attack on an SP. He poured acid on the sons of a business owner. However, the brave people of Siwan never surrendered before Shahabuddin.” “Shahabuddin’s son has been given a ticket by Lalu Prasad Yadav himself from Raghunathpur… Now, under the rule of Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi, even if a hundred Shahabuddin come, no one can do you any harm…”
