Mike Conley says whole Timberwolves camp buzzing over ‘refreshing’ new teammate

Beringer featured in preseason as the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Denver Nuggets 126-116. During the game, seasoned guard Mike Conley spoke with Wolves Radio and had some encouraging words for the French prospect. Beringer has already become a key talking point heading into the new season, and Conley was quick to praise his early impact: “He’s got a bright future, I think everybody in the building is excited about what he’s going to be, he’s in the right place.” “I’m impressed by the way he contests everything. There’s no fear of getting dunked on, no embarrassment there, that’s very refreshing to see.” Conley added that both Beringer and fellow rookie Rocco Zikarsky are fully embracing the Timberwolves’ focused mindset heading into the new campaign. “All the way down to our rookies, everybody is motivated beyond belief. You can tell by the way everybody is fighting, playing physical.” Strong showing from Beringer in Timberwolves victory Beringer matched Nikola Jokic’s scoring output during the preseason game, finishing with 14 points in a solid outing for the Timberwolves. The Frenchman also added four rebounds and one block to his stat line. Bones Hyland led all scorers with 18 points. Timberwolves GM Tim Connelly has already expressed high hopes for Beringer, and early signs suggest he is adapting well to the NBA’s pace.
