King leads Remembrance ceremony for war dead

Australian actress Nicole Kidman has signed up to star in US filmmaker Osgood Perkins’ upcoming horror movie The Young People. The Oscar-winning actress will join a cast which includes Lola Tung, Nico Parker, Tatiana Maslany, Lily Collins, Cush Jumbo, Heather Graham, Johnny Knoxville and Lexi Minetree. Production is underway in Vancouver, and while plot details are being kept under wraps, it has been reported the film centres on a couple of school friends, one of whom begins to develop worrying behaviours. The Young People is the first project under the first-look deal Perkins and his production company Phobos have with Neon. The film marks their latest collaboration following the success of horror-thriller Longlegs, which was the highest-grossing independent film of the year, and The Monkey. Kidman – who recently filed for divorce from country music star husband Keith Urban – is currently in post-production on crime series Scarpetta. It was recently announced she will also star alongside Elle Fanning in a new eight-part legal thriller titled Discretion. Meanwhile, the Australian actress has been kept busy with Practical Magic 2, on which she was delighted to work with Sandra Bullock again. She told People magazine: “(Our dynamic is) insane. I can tease her, and she teases me. “We’re both living in London, very close to each other… I adore her and she is so funny and so lovable. And we’re just having the best time together.” Kidman certainly hasn’t been hiding away since her split from Urban. Last month she opened a special Vogue tribute show at Paramount Studios wearing a stunning black Chanel gown that many considered her “revenge dress”.
