Listing fastest batters to complete 1,000 T20I runs (by balls)

Dashing Indian opener Abhishek Sharma has etched his name in the record books by becoming the fastest to complete 1,000 T20I runs in terms of balls faced (among Full Member nations). He achieved this remarkable feat during the fifth T20I against Australia at The Gabba, Brisbane, on Saturday. Abhishek reached the milestone in just 528 balls. On this note, we list down the full-member team batters to complete 1,000 T20I runs inside 600 deliveries. Abhishek, who made his T20I debut in July 2024, took just 528 balls to get to the landmark. This is an incredible achievement for a young player who has rapidly risen in the international arena. He has two centuries and six fifties in just 28 innings. Overall, he has completed 1,012 runs at an average of 37.48 (SR: 189.51). Abhishek also owns the record for the highest individual T20I score for India, having scored 135 against England earlier this year. Abhishek shattered the previous record held by his compatriot Suryakumar Yadav. The latter took 573 balls to complete 1,000 T20I runs. Having played 95 T20Is so far, SKY has scored 2,754 runs at an average of 36.72 and a strike rate of 164.41. This includes 21 fifties and four tons. His best score is 117. Notably, he is also the only player to have scored T20I centuries in four different nations - South Africa, England, New Zealand, and India. The only other player on this list is England's Philip Salt, who needed just 599 deliveries to complete the milestone. The swashbuckling opener currently boasts 1,540 runs across 50 T20Is at an average of 38.50. His strike rate is a stunning 168.12 (50s: 7, 100s: 4). Earlier this year, Salt recorded the highest individual T20I score for England (141* vs South Africa in Manchester). His other three T20I tons came against West Indies.
