Where is Aileen Wuornos' former prison inmate Deidre Hunt now?

Serial killer Aileen Wuornos’ life and crimes is explored in Netflix ’s latest documentary but what happened to her inmate Deirdre Hunt? In 1989 and 1990, Aileen Wuornos murdered seven men across Florida before she was executed for her horrific crimes in 2002. Before she was given the death penalty, the Netflix special explains how Aileen was feeling paranoid behind bars at the Lowell Correctional Institution. The anxious “Damsel of Death” believed people were listening to her but asked her fellow inmates to not tell anyone about how she was really feeling, including inmate Deidre Hunt. Hunt shared in the documentary: “Aileen, she was not mentally well from my experience. “It was very emotional. It’s hard to imagine killing somebody that’s innocent or killing somebody that was not really fully there. She was not there.” Hunt was imprisoned at the same time as Aileen for her role in the 1989 murders of Kevin Ramsey and Bryan Chase which she committed with her ex-boss and boyfriend Kosta Fotopoulos. Ramsey’s killing in the woods was infamously filmed, showing Hunt shooting him three times in the chest and once in the head. Deidre Hunt was initially given the death penalty but was then resentenced to two consecutive life terms in 1998. So while she wasn’t killed for her crimes, Hunt will spend the rest of her days in prison, despite previously appealing the verdict. Going by a social media post from a couple of years ago, Hunt did work as a law clerk while incarcerated and went on to teach yoga classes to other inmates. The post, which came from the Facebook page Inmates In Need of Penpals and Friends, shared: “[She] has been making the most of her time since she has been there. “I’m trying to find her someone to talk to who will keep her mind busy and keep her in good spirits!” Aileen: Queen of the Serial Killers is available to watch on Netflix.

Netflix's Death By Lightning from release date and cast to 'tragic' real-life inspiration

Netflix's latest true story drama Death By Lightning is set to electrify subscribers with its gripping narrative. The limited series, masterminded by Game of Thrones ' David Benioff and DB Weiss, delves into the life and death of James Garfield, the 20th US President. Creator Mike Makowsky has spent six years crafting this "wild" and "tragic" tale for Netflix . With its release just days away, here's what you can expect from Death By Lightning. The countdown is on for the debut of Death By Lighting, set to premiere on Thursday, November 6, on Netflix. This four-part series is a one-off, so don't hold your breath for a second season. Set in the late 19th Century, Death By Lightning explores the extraordinary life and death of America's 20th President James Garfield. The series charts his unexpected rise to presidency and the story of Charles Guiteau, his biggest fan turned assassin. Based on Candice Millard's 2011 book Destiny of the Republic: A Tale of Medicine, Madness and the Murder of a President, this Netflix drama promises to be a riveting watch. Speaking to Tudum, Makowsky said: "The theme of corruption in politics and our bureaucracy feels particularly evergreen these days. "The idea of civil service reform and waging a battle to clean up the grift in our government - this is something that Garfield very much stood on the front lines of in his time. "In 1881, it feels like America is sort of standing at a crossroads between the past and what the future of this country is going to look like, and it's up to [people like Garfield] to really define how America, 100 years after its inception, is going to look and what kind of society they're going to be." If the remarkable true story behind Death By Lightning doesn't draw you in, then its stellar cast certainly will. Taking centre stage as James Garfield is Michael Shannon, known for his roles in Nocturnal Animals and George and Tammy. Playing opposite him as the assassin Charles Guiteau is Matthew Macfadyen , beloved for his portrayal of Tom Wambsgans in HBO's Succession and his iconic turn as Mr Darcy in the 2005 Pride and Prejudice alongside Keira Knightley.
