The shoes have a low 4mm drop. I've long been a fan of Altra for their trail runners, which I use for backpacking trips, so when I got a chance to try their runners I leapt at the opportunity. I never feel trapped in there and I rarely notice how my feet feet at all. The interior is cushy and comfortable and the foam sole has just enough bounce to feel springy without being unstable.
