Kylie Minogue bringing wine and corned beef to Capital's Jingle Bell Ball hopes Sian Welby

CAPITAL’S Sian Welby wants Kylie Minogue to play Santa by bringing wine and er...corned beef when she headlines the Jingle Bell Ball next month. The Aussie princess plays the annual festive shindig at The O2 London alongside 1D star Louis Tomlinson and chart topper Alex Warren on December 7. Breakfast co-host Sian is a fan of Kylie ’s music and her plonk: “I will never forget when Kylie gave me her Kylie Rosé in a tote bag and she gave us all gifts. I’ve never known an artist ever do that. And I still to this day use that tote bag because I know she gave it to me and she’s turned me to a loyal customer. She needs to do Kylie eggnog now.” Not just eggnog, the Capital team will get her to cook some corned beef backstage for fellow host Jordan North. Sian explained: “We wind up Jordan because he’s always trying to push it on everyone. He made Kylie try it in our studio a couple of years ago and she remembered when she came back and now she’s asking for his mum’s homemade version. So we will be doing some backstage cooking with Kylie at the ball and maybe even Jordan’s mum.” Sian is looking forward to Alex Warren unleashing his mega No1 Ordinary at the bash too: “I’m hoping he brings a choir because when you hear Ordinary and that kicks in behind. I think the whole crowd would be in bits. With everything he’s been through, losing his parents I’m so glad good things happen to people like that.” Being the Capital Breakfast Show host means early bedtime for Sian but she made an exception for the Traitors finale. She told the Daily Star : “Normally, these kind of shows are quite late for me because I’m getting up at four in the morning. But I’ve been so hooked to the Traitors and I’m watching that final live, whether it kills me, because I’m not having anyone spoil it.” Which begs the question would she go on it? “I would love to it’s set the bar I don’t know if I’m even worthy. You’ve had the likes of Jonathan Ross and Stephen Fry. It’s great television, such a good mix of people. I’d be honoured to be in it.” Get that cloak ready. Tickets for Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball are on sale exclusively via the Global Player. Kylie Minogue may finally land the Christmas No1 this year after dropping XMAS - pronounced X - M - A - S - an upbeat Amazon Music Original. Amazon have become major players in festive chart battle catapulting Sam Ryder close to the top and a special CD, 7 inch gold vinyl and 12 inch zoetrope vinyl should help launch Kylie to the top. It features on the ten year anniversary version of the Kylie Christmas album now called Fully Wrapped with four new tunes. She told Radio 2: “I had one song that I needed to exercise. I needed to get it out. It’s been 10 years in the making and that song is XMAS.” Kylie came close to Xmas No1 with Jason Donovan duet Especially for You in 1988, but was pipped at the post by Cliff Richard’s Mistletoe and Wine.
