Robert Irwin’s ‘life-changing’ US TV result

The Wildlife Warrior-turned unexpected king of the dancefloor returned to the stage during the semi finals to give his jive another spin with partner Witney Carson. The couple was full of energy as they danced to Prince’s Baby I’m A Star with Robert showing a vast improvement since they first danced the same routine in week one. His fancy footwork, seamless spins and tricky flips saw him gain perfect 10s from judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli. “For Prince, only a superstar jive would do. You did that,” Bruno said, while praising Robert’s control and Witney’s choreography. “You demand to be in the finale when you dance like that. That was insane. So clean, so sharp,” Carrie Ann agreed. And Derek was equally impressed, saying: “When you dance, you dance with your full body, your full charisma. You’re not just hitting the steps.” A perfect score combined with a spot in the grand final was a result Robert, who this time opted not to include his sister Bindi or mother Terri in his dances, was certainly hoping for but not at all expecting. “Thank you, I’m over the moon, this means the world,” he said of their 30/30 result. “This is changing my life and I’m so grateful.” Fans at home were also thrilled to see Robert gain a spot in the finals and hoped he would follow in his big sister’s footsteps following her series win back in 2015 and also take home the trophy. “His footwork is IMPECCABLE I’m rarely impressed by the male celebs but I love Robert and think he totally deserves to win,” one fan wrote on TikTok. “This is all jive, no gimmicks. He did an incredible job and improved so much,” another added. And another impressed fan summed up the online support with their own simple statement: “He deserves to win. He’s a dancer.”
