Kerry Katona's opens up on 'skeletons' as she confesses she 'just wanted to get away'

Kerry Katona has opened up about how there were "so many skeletons" in her closet and how she "just wanted to get away from it all" in an honest chat about her life. Speaking in a recent interview, the former Atomic Kitten singer was questioned about a statement she made in the new BBC documentary series, Girlbands Forever, where she described fame as a "really f****d up thing". Kerry , who's been on tour with close pal Katie Price , stood by her words that "it is", as she explained how her initial dream was simply to perform, "make people happy", and "inspire". The 45-year-old I'm A Celeb champion also highlighted how the public assumes you're "mega rich" once you achieve celebrity status, but she revealed that wasn't her reality, describing it as a "really lonely world". Kerry told the Observer : "They said we got a £1.5m record deal - well, I walked away with 36 grand in my bank. I didn't get any of that kind of money! It's a really lonely world." She went on: "I started dating Brian (McFadden), then there were so many skeletons in my closet: doing the glamour modelling, being in foster homes, my mum's sexuality. I did not enjoy that kind of attention." "When I became pregnant with Molly, I just wanted to get away from it all. I got a No 1 - I'm eternally grateful for that - but I didn't know how to handle it. I was suicidal. I turned to drugs." The new three-part series, which explores the world of girl bands from the 90s through to the 2010s, reportedly examines the challenges encountered by these iconic groups. Meanwhile, Kerry , who is currently in a relationship with Paolo Margaglione (whom she met on Celebs Go Dating ), recently tackled some false pregnancy rumours in her column for New Magazine, disclosing that they were generated by AI. Kerry wrote: "Paolo and I were victims of AI last week when someone created a fake pregnancy reveal picture of us holding a baby scan, which was absolutely ridiculous. "I actually got my hopes up when I saw it! Jokes aside, I think it's a little bit insensitive to create those things, though. I'm a 45 year old woman who would really love to have another baby, but I don't know whether it will happen or not." She added that AI "in that sense" is "getting out of hand", adding that she would have loved the picture to have been real and will continue to hope that it "does happen", but at present, she's "definitely not pregnant". Kerry has also shared her wish that her new relationship "works" but will "never forget this feeling" if it doesn't. Speaking on the Suddenly Single podcast , she said: "I hope it works, but even if it doesn't, I'll never forget this feeling. You see me falling in love [on Celebs Go Dating]. Even if this ends tomorrow, I don't think I'll have a feeling like this every again."
