‘Imagine Your Card Declines At Matha Take’: Gurdwara In UK Installs Card Machine, Sparks Fun Reactions

When we visit places of worship, be it a temple, church, mosque or gurdwara, it is common to make offerings or donations. Usually, people carry some cash for this purpose. But in today’s digital world, that is not always the case. Many of us have found ourselves reaching into our wallets only to realise we don’t have any money. Now, a Gurdwara in the UK seems to have solved that problem in a truly modern way. They have installed a card payment machine, letting devotees make donations with just a tap. Yes, you read that right, a contactless way to give your offering. Clip Shows Card Machine Inside Gurdwara In a short video posted on Instagram, the camera captures a peaceful scene inside a Gurdwara in England. You can hear the sacred hymns being read in the background while the camera slowly pans toward the front of the shrine. Sitting right there, on a shiny golden surface, is a card payment machine. The video then zooms in, clearly showing the device placed neatly at the front. On-screen text reads, “Gurdwara in England too advanced man.” Another line below adds a funny twist: “Imagine your card declines at matha take,” followed by a laughing emoji. A user wrote, “Good initiative.” Another said, “This is so good! So many times you go to the Gurdwara and are looking for cash. They’ve had this at the Martindale Gurdwara in Hounslow, UK since 2019.” A person joked, “Great idea. Goes straight into the account, imagine having to carry sacksssss of coins to the bank lol.” Someone else added, “To be honest, it makes sense. Saves time going to the bank. That’s if you can even find a local branch open these days.” And one user couldn’t help but laugh, saying, “Just hope your card doesn’t decline.” A curious user asked, “Do people get to choose how much they want it to be?” while another wondered, “They take bitcoin?”

‘Bhaiya, Kya Kar Rahe Ho’: Bengaluru Woman Accuses Rapido Driver of Harassment Mid-Ride | Video

A woman in Bengaluru has alleged that a Rapido bike rider harassed her during a ride in the city’s central area. The incident reportedly took place on November 6 and came to light after she shared her experience on Instagram. Her post soon drew attention from the Bengaluru City Police and the ride-hailing company. The woman said she had booked a Rapido ride from Church Street to her paying guest accommodation when the driver allegedly tried to touch her inappropriately during the journey. She wrote that the incident happened so suddenly that she was unable to react or record it. “He Tried To Grab My Legs While Riding” In her post, the woman shared, “Trigger warning: Harassment – Today, 06.11.2025, in Bengaluru, I faced something I never thought I would. While returning to my PG from Church Street on a Rapido ride, the captain tried to grab my legs while riding. It happened so suddenly that I couldn’t even process it, let alone record it. When he did it again, I told him, “Bhaiya, kya kar rahe ho, mat karo,” but he didn’t stop.” She said she confronted the driver, telling him to stop, but he continued. “I was terrified. I couldn’t ask him to stop the bike because I’m new to this place and didn’t know where I was. By the time we reached my destination, I was shivering and in tears,” she wrote. Bystander Steps In After Spotting Distress According to her, a man nearby noticed that she was visibly upset and came to help. “A kind man asked what happened. When I told him, he confronted the captain. The captain apologised and said he wouldn’t do it again, but as he left, he pointed his finger at me in a way that made me feel even more unsafe,” she said. The woman added that she decided to speak up so others wouldn’t face the same situation. “No woman should have to go through something like this – not in a cab, not on a bike, not anywhere. This is not the first time something similar has happened to me, but today I just couldn’t stay silent because of how unsafe I felt,” she wrote.
