Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla’s trial resumes in the Durban High Court

The trial of Umkhonto Wesizwe Party parliamentary member and daughter of former president Jacob Zuma, Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, is expected to resume in the Durban High Court on Monday. The matter, which was set down for two weeks, was adjourned on Wednesday last week. Zuma-Sambudla, who faces charges of inciting terrorism and violence related to the July 2021 unrest, has pleaded not guilty to all charges against her. The state alleges that her social media posts intentionally and unlawfully encouraged the public to engage in acts of violence under the slogan #FreeJacobZuma in July 2021. NPA regional spokesperson Natasha Ramkisson-Kara says a new state witness is expected to take the stand. “The matter adjourned for the resumption of the state’s case. A new witness will be introduced. This will be in the Durban High Court.
