Upon learning about Haouchar’s arrest over the planned execution of Kallita, the State Parole Authority revoked his parole. The decision meant Haouchar would spend at least another year behind bars seeing out his robbery convictions, no matter what happened in his conspiracy to murder trial. But the gangster railed for freedom from behind bars. Haouchar unsuccessfully attempted to get bail from the NSW Supreme Court in February, when a judge concluded encrypted chats contained “powerful evidence of an agreement … to murder Andre Kallita by shooting him in the vicinity of Day Street Police Station in the Sydney CBD”.
