Iga Swiatek recently paid a trip to Zurich, Switzerland. The Polish tennis star explored Roger Federer’s hometown in a visit to the headquarters of On, the billion-dollar shoes and performance wear brand backed by the Swiss legend.Federer first invested in On in 2019, buying three percent of the company for $50 million. Since then, the brand has become one of the leading names in performance wear, reaching a valuation of $19.65 billion in May, 2025. In 2023, On signed an apparel deal with Swiatek, making her one of the first tennis stars to sign with the brand.Recently, Iga Swiatek visited the headquarters of On in Zurich Switzerland. The Polish star spent a day exploring Roger Federer's hometown, interacting with with fans. In an interview with Vogue, Iga Swiatek spoke about how the Swiss star changed the game, saying,“When Roger retired, I was just entering the tour, so the timing wasn’t perfect for us to be on tour together. Everything that he does is with so much class. Roger’s a huge inspiration; he changed our game, basically.”In a separate interview with Eurosport Polska, the 24-year-old reflected on Federer's impeccable movement and technique, explaining,"Roger is a class in itself, in terms of movement, technique, and how he behaves outside the court. I am generally impressed by the smoothness of his movements and how majestic he looks. These are things that I admire immensely, but I don't know if I will be able to introduce them to my game myself. I will try, but we will see,"On the tennis end of things, Iga Swiatek was last in action at the 2025 WTA Finals. The Pole had a lukewarm showing at the event and she failed to make it out of the group stage matches in Riyadh.

The defending champions and home team got the tie off to a convincing start, with Matteo Berrettini defeating Raphael Collignon in straight sets. After this, Cobolli and Bergs faced off against each other in an incredible match. While Cobolli won the first set, Bergs claimed the second set and was on the brink of winning the match when his opponent saved seven match points to clinch victory.With this loss, Belgium was subsequently knocked out of the Davis Cup. After their match, Flavio Cobolli consoled a visibly emotional Zizou Bergs in a heartwarming gesture. However, Bergs found his rhythm on the court soon after, claiming the second set 6-7(5) to force a decider.The final set witnessed a blockbuster performance from both players. While Bergs always seemed to be in control of the rallies, Cobolli saved seven match points and outlasted Bergs in a 32-point tie break. In his on-court interview after the match, the Italian reflected on his win, saying,"It's really tough to say something about this match. We played for our countries and fought a lot for this win. In the end, I realised my dream and we are now in the final. I played an amazing match against a great opponent. I played for all of [the supporters], for all of my team, my family, for me. It is one of the best days of my life.”In a separate media interaction, Cobolli admitted that he didn't know the score in the tie-break saying,“I asked the team, ‘what's the score in the tiebreak’, because I didn't know, I didn't remember. I won this match because I believed in myself for three hours today. I think I had a great attitude for all the match. Now I’m a little bit tired, but I’m ready to recover for the final.”With Flavio Cobolli’s win, Italy moved forward into their third-consecutive finals at the Davis Cup. The team will next face the winner of the semifinals tie between Spain and Germany.

I don’t know. The problem is that it’s getting tougher and tougher to do the things I need to be doing to be at the level I want to be at. It’s a daily battle, to be honest. I’m just trying to take it day by day and see how much I can push myself because this sport is brutal.”“It’s funny: yesterday, I was watching Venus and seeing adverts about tennis being the world’s healthiest sport. I was like, ‘What? More like the word’s unhealthiest sport if you play it as much as we do and live the life that we do,” she added.Vekic went on to explain that her plans for her life after retirement include doing ‘nothing’.“I have so many interests, but when I stop, I think I’ll just want to rest and do nothing,” she said.Donna Vekic was most recently seen in action at the Wuhan Open, where she lost her opening round match to 13th seed Belinda Bencic in straight sets.
