Big-name national acts Ball Park Music, fresh off supporting Oasis on their 2025 tour across Australia, and Aussie rock veterans The Living End will join some of Adelaide’s best local artists at A Day in the Gully, a new festival at Modbury’s Civic Park in February. Ball Park Music frontman Sam Cromack says “the band is always buzzing to get back to South Australia”. “Always one of our faves. We can’t wait to join this great slew of artists at Day In The Gully and make one hell of a racket,” Sam says. They’ll join Adelaide indie-punk duo Teenage Joans – made of Cahli Blakers and Tahlia Borg – at the daytime park land festival. “They’re amazing community building events and it’s a bonus for us that it’s super close to home,” the duo said. “We are super excited to be a part of it and can’t wait to play for our community!” A Day in the Gully is produced by Standing Room Only Events, a Northern Territory-based group that is also responsible for festivals like Bass in the Grass and Port Lincoln’s Tunarama. The one-day, all-ages event marks the first major national headline music festival to be held in Modbury’s Civic Park, and is put on in partnership with the Tea Tree Gully council. Adelaide indie-pop quartet The Tullamarines, whose latest EP Safety Blanket featured in CityMag’s Best New Music column, are also on the lineup, promising high-energy, heartfelt performances that blend jangly guitars, warm harmonies and a connection to the hometown scene. Aussie alternative, indie-folk artist Pete Murray, fresh from releasing his album Longing, will take the stage, performing acoustic favourites like ‘Better Days’ and ‘Opportunity’. Chet Faker is also returning to SA for the festival. The Australian electronic-soul artist, known for smooth vocals and hypnotic live shows, returns with his first single since 2023, ‘Far Side of the Moon’, following hits like ‘Gold’ and ‘Talk Is Cheap’. Off the back of a 2025 Beyond the Valley set, ARIA-platinum award-winner Mallrat will also play the festival, along with six-time ARIA winners The Living End. The all-ages festival also promises delicious South Australian food and wine, interactive activities, and a vibrant atmosphere, with affordable ticket options for residents in the Tea Tree Gully council area. With council support, Tea Tree Gully residents had access to exclusive presale tickets for only $75 – $50 less than the general admission price. “This new music festival is all about all about bringing people together,” Tea Tree Gully mayor Marijka Ryan says. “It will be a great chance to celebrate Australian live music and have some fun right in our own backyard.” SRO Events managing director Danielle Jones says the group is “thrilled” to put on A Day in the Gully. “Our vision is to create an unforgettable experience that showcases amazing Australian artists, local food and wine, and the relaxed, welcoming vibe that makes this region so special,” she says. The presale for Tea Tree Gully residents ends Sunday, November 16 at 11:59 pm and general admission goes on sale Monday, November 17 for $125. Full lineup, set times, and participating vendors will be released closer to the festival.
