Isha Ambani’s blush pink ensemble by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla featured 3,670 hours of zardozi

For the British Museum’s inaugural Pink Ball in London, co-chair Isha Ambani chose an ensemble that celebrated the depth of Indian craftsmanship. Designed by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, the look was made entirely in blush pink chamoise satin; an architectural jacket paired with a column skirt, tailored close to the body before gently flaring at the hem. Styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania, the ensemble was part of the designers’ Phulwari embroidery collection, reimagined for this occasion in the house’s first-ever pink zardozi. Traditionally executed in gold, the technique took on a softer tonality here, rendered in old rose and vintage blush threads, and layered with pearls, sequins and crystals. Over 35 artisans spent 3,670 hours bringing the design to life, each stitch precisely placed across the jacket’s panels and skirt’s length. The embroidery spilled onto her shoes as a finishing detail, a hidden gesture that revealed itself only up close. Her jewellery, from Nita Ambani’s personal collection, added vivid contrast to the monochrome palette. A suite of heart-shaped emeralds—necklace, earrings, and a statement ring—introduced a sense of boldness against the delicate hues of the outfit. Hair was parted down the centre and pulled back into a sleek half-up style, accentuating the neckline. Makeup followed the same tonal harmony: rose-gold lids, lengthened lashes, luminous skin and a mauve lip that framed the face without overpowering it. The look carried echoes of couture’s grandeur while remaining deeply tied to Indian artistry. It spoke to the modern vocabulary of women like Isha Ambani, who wear their heritage as both inheritance and evolution. From Vogue's fashion desk: “Go subtler on the accessories, something more intricate and lighter or perhaps a string of pearls with matching studs to accentuate the regal charm of the suit rather than compete with it. Swap the tonal pumps for stilettos to let the look breathe. take it further by opening up the hair and giving it a classic blowout, and a shade lighter on the eyelids,” says Vogue India fashion associate Manglien Gangte. 21 looks from Isha Ambani Piramal to inspire your festive wardrobe, including Benarasi saris and craft lehengas A look at Isha Ambani Piramal's style evolution over the years Isha Ambani Piramal confesses that she is a “Carbie Barbie”

Alia Bhatt turns to the archives in a gilded Ritu Kumar ensemble

Archival craftsmanship took centre stage as Alia Bhatt pulled out veteran couturier Ritu Kumar's classic for the festive season for Dhanteras celebrations. Styled by Rhea Kapoor, she paired it with a Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas necklace and kada, and a maang tikka from Sanzany Jewels. Crafted by the visionary who helped shape Indian couture, it's cut in rose-gold silk with a subtle metallic sheen. The drape showcased meticulous handwork across the borders and pallu, including delicate silver tikki embroidery and fine resham detailing, that caught the light softly. The geometric buta motifs and lattice on the pallu were completed with zardozi work. Complemented by a structured, sweetheart-neckline blouse and a diaphanous embroidered jacket, the look builds volume and texture through layering. The jewellery selection included a wide choker and kada that extended the gleam at the neckline and wrist, their craftsmanship echoing the sari’s artisanal detailing. Her beauty look stayed understated with Alia Bhatt's hair parted sleekly down the middle and makeup that focused on luminous skin with softly contoured cheeks, sheen on the lids and peachy lips. From Vogue’s fashion desk: “This tone-on-tone champagne look is the perfect amount of festive glamour without putting on too much. The polki necklace works, so does the maang tikka. The only thing I would add to this look would be a velvet potli embroidered with pearls and stone, and chrome manicure to add a little bit more to the outfit,” says Vogue India fashion associate Manglien Gangte.
