Western Union Reports Fewer U.S. Dollars Being Sent Home by Migrants

In another example of the Trump effect, money transfer giant Western Union is reporting that its revenue from cash transfers to locations outside the U.S. has seen a 12 percent decline this year. Migrants living in the U.S. both legally and illegally have traditionally been the greatest source of U.S. dollars flowing out of America and into foreign nations, even dwarfing the amount of foreign aid lavished on the world by the U.S. government. But with Donald Trump’s focus on immigration, Western Union is seeing far fewer customers needing their services. Last week, Western Union CEO Devin McGranahan told investors that the company had seen a huge decline in cash transfers to Mexico, El Salvador, Peru, and Ecuador, according to CPR News. WATCH — ICE Houston Officers Arrest Alleged Drunk Driving Illegal Alien in Nighttime Operation: “Recent policy changes have led to a substantial decline in border crossings and an increase in enforcement actions including workplace inspections and deportations which have created uncertainty and hesitation within migrant communities. These developments continue to impact customer behavior,” McGranahan said during the call with investors. The loss of business sent Western Union’s stock down 15 percent this year. “We’re seeing this kind of an event that really hits them in the heart … The core of their business is U.S. to Latin America, and we’re seeing it getting hit across the board,” business analyst Brett Horn told CPR News. The remarks last week by McGranahan are not the first to note the large drop in cash transfers to foreign nations, which are often termed “remittances.” In August, the Latin Times noted that remittances from Mexico dropped more than 15 percent over 2024. The amount sent by foreign nationals living in the U.S. is incredible, too. In total, about $63 billion has been sent in remittances from the U.S. to Mexico in the last 12 months — and that is less than 2023 and 2024’s totals. Other countries are also the happy recipients of hundreds of millions in U.S. dollars. WATCH — Democrats Threaten to Go After ICE Agents if They Take Back Power: In January 2025, Nicaragua received $373.5 million in remittances, for instance. A World Bank report found that remittances amounted to 27 percent of Nicaragua’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2024. Other nations receiving huge amounts in cash sent home by foreign nationals living in the U.S. include El Salvador ($8.479 billion in 2024), Peru ($4.945 billion), Ecuador ($6.54 billion), and India ($135.46 billion). By contrast, the U.S. government only lays out about $80 billion a year in direct foreign aid. While many criticize foreign aid doled out by Congress, claiming that the U.S. doesn’t really benefit from the expenditures, remittances are fully a detriment to America. It is money that does not go to benefit our local stores, our schools, our cities, or anything else. It is cash summarily sent away to benefit other countries. Watch: Joe Rogan Enjoys Attending Church, Praises Benefits of Faith in Jesus Christ

Podcast King Joe Rogan is bucking the anti-Christian left and says that he enjoys church, admires Christ, and praises the benefits of Christianity. Speaking on his Joe Rogan Experience podcast with Triggernometry hosts Francis Foster and Konstantin Kisin, Rogan agreed that religion can bring moral clarity and inner peace. Rogan said he appreciates religion because it helps make people lives better. “They’re trying to be a better person, and they’re trying to — I mean for me at least, the place that I go to — they, you know, they read and analyze passages in the Bible. I’m really interested in what these people were trying to say because I don’t think it’s nothing.” He went on to say that atheists try to “dismiss” Christianity. “There’s a lot of, like, atheists and secular people that just like to dismiss Christianity as being foolish. You know, ‘It’s just fairy tales.’ I hear that amongst, you know, self-professed intelligent people, like, ‘It’s a fairy tale,’” Rogan continued. Rogan pointed out that we have a lot of historical and scientific proof that many of the things mentioned in the Bible were actually true, actual places, and true events. He also noted that there is historical proof of the existence of Jesus and he admires the Christian savior. “It’s a historically documented human being,” Rogan said of Jesus. “That’s where it gets weird because there’s a there’s a universal depiction of what this human being was like. That doesn’t seem to vary that much between all the people that knew him. That gets weird.” “Like, I don’t know if that’s true. I think there’s more to it. I think it’s history, but I think it’s a confusing history. It’s a confusing history because it was a long time ago,” Rogan said. “And it’s people telling things in an oral tradition, then writing things down in a language that you don’t understand in the context of a culture that you don’t understand. And I think there’s something to what they’re saying.” “Christianity in particular is the most fascinating to me because there’s this one person that everybody agrees existed, that somehow or another had the best plan for how human beings should interact with each other and behave and was the best example of it and even died in a nonviolent way, like didn’t even protest, died on the cross supposedly for our sins,” Rogan explained. “Like, it’s a fascinating story.” Rogan also said many of the Christians he has met are the happiest and kindest people he’s ever met. Top Casting Agency Hires K-Street Lobbyists as AI Threatens Movie Stars' Jobs

Hollywood stars are softening on their distaste for Washington D.C.’s K-Street lobbyists as they become increasingly worried that artificial intelligence is coming for their jobs. Outside of environmental and union lobbyists, left-wing Hollywood has traditionally opposed K-Street, often claiming that the industry is one of the problems with Washington. But with the growth of AI, some members of the Hollywood elite are turning to lobbyists to help them stave off AI’s take over of the entertainment industry. Now, one of Hollywood’s biggest talent agencies, Creative Artists Agency (CAA), has retained Washington lobbying firm Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck to head off AI’s encroachment, according to Politico. The hire marks the first time that CAA has reached out from California to Washington, D.C., for lobbying needs. Carl Thorsen, a co-founder of the lobbying firm Thorsen French Advocacy, told Politico that “that the risks and rewards created by AI are prompting more engagement in D.C. than I’ve seen in over a decade.” AI is spurring a lot of activity with lobbying. Just in the past two years, the National Association of Voice Actors and the Academy of Television Art & Sciences have begun reaching out to K-Street. Of course, Hollywood is facing far more pressures than AI. Taxation, job loss, encroachment on their turf by overseas producers and studios, massive industry mergers at home, and a host of other issues are slamming the entertainment industry with which lobbyists can help. AI, though, is a particular threat that makes many of the industry’s other worry pale. Hollywood has reportedly lost more than 200,000 jobs and climbing to artificial intelligence. And so far, the studios have stayed awfully quiet over the matter, likely out of fear and powerlessness over the sea change. OpenAI just released its latest AI tool, Sora 2, and kicked the discussion into overdrive as the studios rose up to demand that the AI company take serious measures to prevent its users from accessing copyrighted material to program their video generations. Top talent agency WME, for instance, blasted OpenAI and accused them of “stealing” intellectual property. WME released a statement insisting that OpenAI thinks it can “just steal” people’s work, “disregarding global copyright principles and blatantly dismissing creators’ rights, as well as the many people and companies who fund the production, creation, and publication of these humans’ work.” All this turmoil and upheaval is opening the door for Hollywood to start hiring lobbyists to press their issues. Modern 'Amadeus' Remake Gets Flamed for Casting Its Mozart with Asian Actor

Fans of the award-winning 1984 film Amadeus are ripping the trailer for the latest adaptation of the famed story following the life and times of classical composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The 1984 film directed by Miloš Forman and starring F. Murray Abraham and Tom Hulce, won eight Academy Awards, four Golden Globes, four BAFTAs and a number of other awards after its release. Many consider it one of the best films of all time. And it was based on a hit play for 1979. But now, Sky has released its first look at its new miniseries based on the same material as the hit 1984 film due this December. With this illustrious history, many are wondering why anyone felt the need to redo it. Especially over the fact that the producers cast Will Sharpe — who is half Japanese — to play the role of the Austrian musical genius Amadeus Mozart. “I had no idea Mozart was East Asian. It’s a good thing we have Hollywood to provide such historical accuracy here. Were something irregular to happen, like Hollywood portray Obama as a White man, I wouldn’t bother watching,” one fan said, according to The Wrap. Another wrote, “Literally not a single person was asking for this.” Yet another commenter sarcastically added, “Is this the one where we find out that the true genius behind Amadeus is a paraplegic non binary Black woman that taught him everything, and wrote his music.” Many more wondered why Sky was trying to remake Amadeus when the 1984 was such a perfect production. “Why on Earth would we need a retelling of a familiar story, when this banger of the movie already exists?” a commenter wrote, while another said, “Just remaster in 4K and make an annual run in movie theaters. I’ve watched it so many times and will watch again gladly.” Some fans were also less than amused that the tag line tacked onto the end of the trailer by Sky studio states “Believe in original stories.” The irony of the tagline, they said, seems lost on Sky. “LOL they really ended that trailer with ‘believe, in original stories??’ Really?? After remaking perhaps the one movie that never, ever, needs to [be] remade?” one unhappy fan wrote. The limited series produced by Two Cities Television in association with Sky Studios was written by Black Doves creator Joe Barton, who unleashed a bit of sarcasm of his own after so many critics blasted the trailer for his project. “I wrote this. As part of our promotion, we are going to destroy every single copy of the 1984 original movie in existence and there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it,” he wrote on X.
