The primary selection criterion will be research excellence and emphasis will be placed on the candidate’s ability to document a high level of original scientific work at an international level within the area of basic molecular mechanisms underlying human male reproductive development, male fertility, testicular cancer. The ideal candidate should have a strong international track record in areas such as:Genetic and epigenetic regulation of male reproductive development and disordersCellular, molecular and genetic mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of testicular cancerSmall RNA and single-cell transcriptomics profiling of reproductive tissuesMolecular and cellular mechanisms involved in the function of human sperm cellsTranslational research related to the function of the human testis (e.g. puberty, fertility)The position should complement and strength the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine collaboration with clinical departments in Denmark and it is important that the candidate can prove translation of basic research into clinically relevant aspects. Furthermore, the candidate must be an internationally recognized and visionary scientist with a strong track record of international and interdisciplinary collaboration. The successful candidate will develop and lead an internationally recognized and extramurally funded research program and must therefore show a track record of securing external competitive funding. It is expected that the candidate will contribute to teaching in medical genetics and supervision of both students and more senior researchers as well as engage in public outreach activities.The Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine (https://icmm.ku.dk/) offers a dynamic, inclusive, and collaborative environment, with a commitment to research excellence and a thriving teaching program in Cellular and Molecular Medicine.
