With that in mind, we encourage all qualified applicants to apply. Job DescriptionThe Special Projects Department is seeking to appoint a Security Guard. This is a permanent part-time position, located at the Apia Samoa Temple and the successful candidate will be required to work from this location. This position reports to the Temple Facilities Manager.

This role provides security for Church property by preventing fire, theft, vandalism, and unauthorized entry; responds to medical emergencies with first aid; assists employees and visitors; and makes immediate decisions in security-related situations. ResponsibilitiesConduct regular reviews of buildings and grounds during assigned shifts. Inspect doors, windows, gates, and other access points to ensure they are secure; report potential security risks. Register at security checkpoints and complete required patrols. Respond to and assist individuals with information, directions, or other needs; work any shift or post as needed and be available for emergencies 24/7.

Address disturbances, make contact with individuals causing issues, and notify police when appropriate. Search buildings in response to bomb threats or other safety alerts. Administer first aid when needed and contact emergency medical services when required. Monitor and report safety and security hazards, such as unauthorized persons, suspicious activity, fire, or mechanical issues. Participate in ongoing security training to maintain skills and awareness. Complete all required written reports and document any unusual events; summon additional help when necessary. QualificationsBasic reading, writing, and communication skills. Requires tact and sound judgment in performing duties.

Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or military. Successful completion of required security training and certification (e. g. , CPR, First Aid, Basic Security Procedures) within 90 days, with annual recertification. Two years of post–high school education or equivalent security training preferred; additional related schooling and experience is a plus. No prior police record or affiliation with anti-government or anti-Church groups. Ability to lead and clearly communicate direction to others.
