Job Description

Role purposeResponsible for planning, coordinating and executing high quality banqueting and event functions, ensuring exception service delivery and profit maximisation.QualificationsMatric / Grade 12 requiredPost matric diploma in events would be an added advantageMinimum requirementsMinimum 5 years of managerial experience in banqueting conference / exhibition industryExcellent knowledge of the exhibition and conference marketGood financial understanding including compilation of budgets and analysing income statementsSales and marketing background within complex and resort environmentKnowledge of banqueting, food and beverage operations will be an added advantageComputer literate, MS word, Excel and Powerpoint requiredExcellent communication, interpersonal and organisation skills requiredExperience with centralised quoting processes will be an added advantageMain responsibilitiesPlan, organise and manage banqueting functions, conferences and functions and special eventsLiaise with clients to understand their needs, prepare proposals and oversee executionMonitor budgets, control costs and ensure events are delivered profitablyNegotiate prices for both client and company benefits where required, in order to secure bookingsMaintain high standards of health, safety and food hygieneBuild and maintain strong client relationships and encourage repeat businessManage and train staff to deliver professional and efficient serviceCoordinate with all relevant stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure seamless operationsEnsure policies, procedures and contracts are properly recorded and followed, and ensure contracts are inline with industry requirementsCollaborate with the sales department
