This Academic Coordinatorrole provides support to the Counselor Education and CounselingPsychology (CECP ) department. Support includes purchasing, scheduling,advising, supervising student employees, and assisting all CECP facultywith on-campus and online program and curricular activities. Duties andResponsibilities 1. Perform on-campus and online CECP graduate coursescheduling in collaboration with the Chair of CECP ; enter course codesand distribute course permission numbers. Participate in course approvaland bulletin updates. Facilitate course adjustments, enrollmentadjustments, classroom/meeting assigning/adjusting and admission updatesfor on-campus and online graduate programs. 2. Participate in academicand pre-service advising for graduate students (including maintaininggraduate files and working directly with the Graduate School) inconsultation with the Program Directors (School Counseling, CMHC andCounseling Psychology) and Chair of CECP . Provide curriculuminformation with graduate students as the first contact and as desirableor necessary afterwards. Assist Program Directors and Chair of CECP withpreparing graduate student handbooks, forms and collaborating withediting Graduate Bulletin. Prepare and submit graduation verificationand licensure forms in conjunction with Program Directors. 3. Facilitateand record expenditures from the department budget including travelexpenses, reimbursements, office supplies, and grant work. 4. Planevents for on-campus master\'s and doctoral interviews, new studentorientations, department colloquiums, poster events, meetings, and othermisc. department and student events as needed. 5. Serve as anadministrative advisor to the CECP Graduate Student Organization (GSO ).Provide consultation on university policies and procedures, serve as theassistant academic advisor, and oversee social event planning, andorganization of diversity scholarship. 6. Work with Chair of CECP toprepare assessment and required accreditation data for the on-campus andonline programs along with collecting and recording alumni survey datato prep re reports for CECP programs. 7. Assist in faculty and staffsearches. Schedule and record minutes at departmental meetings andstudent meetings, prepare promotion and tenure dossiers, provideassistance and training to adjunct instructors and supervisors. 8.Coordinate communication about scholarship opportunities to programstudents, and work with CECP faculty to communicate scholarships, travelreimbursements and financial aid opportunities. 9. Responsible for thesupervision of student employees which includes but is not limited tohiring, training, disciplinary actions, ending the student\'sassignment, etc. This includes oversight of event and operationsstudent-staff. \*\*\*\*\* OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: RequiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Bachelor\'s degree in Education,Psychology, Business, Communications, or other related field of study. Aminimum of 1 year of relevant experience. Strong organizational,interpersonal, and communication skills. Commitment to diversity,equity, inclusion; ability and desire to work and communicate acrosscultures and with a diverse population of faculty and students.Commitment to and ability to maintain confidentiality and have criticaljudgement and discretionary capacity. Must be able to work bothautonomously and on a team while displaying excellent project and timeManagement Skills. Experience Coordinating Processes And/or Events.Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Supervisory experience. Ahistory of excellent customer service including problem solving, with acourteous demeanor. Work within a counseling or clinical mental healthcounseling profession. Work within higher education.
